Made a big show of signing a declaration that they'll put troops into Ukraine if a peace deal is agreed. Why did they do that when Putin has already said it would be unacceptable and part of his justification for invading was to stop the expansion of NATO? Ard they really happy for the war to continue and is it deflecting his lack of action and presence at home?
Also he can't commit troops without an Act of Parliament which he hasn't got, he surely must know that?
And, why is the Ukraine border worth protecting by UK troops when our own borders aren't?

Maybe it’s a distraction, so we forget what he hasn’t achieved.
His father was a toolmaker don’t forget…and boy that was a tool.

Why is the Ukraine border worth protecting, where will Putin proceed next if Ukraine falls to Russia ?
France and the U.K. have signed an agreement to put troops in Ukraine pending a cease fire, Putin isn’t going to accept a cease fire under those terms. He will carry on trying to bomb Ukraine into submission no matter the cost and the loss of Russian troops.
Just to clarify Starmer (Snowy before you say it I am not defending him just stating facts) opened prime minister’s questions on Wednesday by reassuring MPs the matter would be put to the Commons before any troops are deployed to Ukraine, a point the right wing MSM failed to mention.
We should be more concerned about Trumps actions threatening to annexe Greenland one way or another and threats to other sovereign nations. His agenda prior to his election was to stop wars but he doesn’t appear to be doing that currently, if Trump would just come out and say it’s all about oil. America has loads of oil but it’s poor quality ‘thin’ oil they need ‘heavy’ oil for byproducts from it like plastics.

The bloke’s a busted flush, trying to appear the statesman he isn’t and raise his profile….. given the media you read or listen to thousands of miles away he’ll be sold as reasonable….he isn’t even average……he’s a spent cartridge…..a blank.

Just to be clear, Starmer opened PMQs yesterday confirming that a debate and vote followed by a Statutory Instrument would need to take place prior to deploying troops to Ukraine after he'd announced to the World on the grand stage that he was doing it. And, after another bollocking from the Speaker for breaking protocol by his grand gesture before any statement to Parliament, again!!
He's riding roughshod over our democratic processes in order to promote himself.
Oh and btw, he's effectively warning Putin that we'll go to war with him over Ukraine. Have we not learned our lessons from interfering in the Middle East, Afghanistan, etc? Is Starmer speaking for the majority of UK citizens, who gave him a mandate to make these commitments to put our armed forces and the country at risk?

Another ridiculous title for a thread. The only war mongering bastards I see is Putin. Are you happy we helped the US sieze that ship?

Not a problem…stop as many as they like for me, crack on…..but it’s the two failed leaders trying to jump on any bandwagon to save their collective backsides and show themselves in a good light that gets on my nerves.

thing is its in the nature of plenty of brits. if it had not been starmer saying this i,d guess another pm would have. we seem to have a mentality of wanting a scrap and shoving our noses into international affairs unlike many other countries do. btitannia does not rule the waves or the airspace anymore even if some regret this fact.

Hardly a ridiculous thread title when Starmer and Macron are basically provoking Putin? Nobody's disputing that Putin caused it but their comments and commitments will not help any peace negotiations but may well escalate the situation. Sabre rattling against Putin over matters thousands of miles away is not in the UKs interests, who would we send anyway given the pathetic strength of our present military?

What about the other Eastern Europeans or the glorious EU? You'd expect those closest to the war zone would be most vocal and indeed active.
Starmer & Macron trying to make themselves relevant on the world stage at the expense of security to their own countries.

I suspect Starmer, after the big win in the election’s, got carried away and was hopeful of another term, so spent this term laying the foundations to rejoin the sinking ship that is the EU, and pull us back in and rejoin because they have a mandate in their second term.
A nailed on loser swimming in wet cement.

Personally I don't have a problem with securing closer trading ties with the EU, it's the political union that I never wanted us to join or return to.

Closer trading isn’t a problem…it’s the strings they attach..

Aye, good question,i believe it was called the 'coalition of the willing'.What happened to them?..I'll take a guess that weasel Macron whispered in Starmer's ear that nobody in the EU can afford the cash for defence. and we need the UK and Trump behind us now, more than ever..And just one more thing, can you take centre stage today,i'll be right behind you..What a feckin mug we have in charge of the country!!

Could it be more of a negotiation stance for getting some of Trumps US corporate backers greater control of the natural resources of Greenland?
There are already agreements in place giving the US a free hand regarding defence issues.
Denmark are not our enemies.

been saying exactly the same thing most of my lifetime. we just cannot help it and a good number of the general public are in favour of miletary involvement and get upset about any defence or as i call it offence cuts, yanks are quick to get any guns out on there own soil like we wish to be a major player again in overseas conflicts. funny how they always dind money for that.

Is it still the case that the German military cannot operate offensively outside their borders but can provide "support"??

Starmer’s setting aside £200,000 million to fund UK troops in Ukraine….why can’t we just let everyone else volunteer for this shite, what do we have to there …?

Thrown a bone in for a bite Sussex, sorry to disappoint you, but for what reason would she do that, did she hand the cash prize of just under 2 million dollars as well, hasn’t Trump already said he would not back her as the leader ?
