Nonsense. He didn't magic anything. He said immediately that they did not have the money for it, and that it was not costed in the manfesto. For that reason it was merely an aspiration rather than a hard policy. The money would have to have been borrowed. That was made clear.

He and McDonnell gave a clear impression that those women would be paid. Weasling out of it by using phrases such as 'moral debt' is pathetic. McDonnell claimed that it would be paid over five years. Are you seriously claiming that Labour didn't indicate to these women that they would be compensated?

It was certainly the hill that they died on, or at least the hill where they took the most damage. They misread the public. The public did not vote for a no-deal Brexit. That is undeniably true. But what Labour misunderstood for me was a large chunk of the public simply did not care. I've spoken to enough people over the last few years who were utterly convinced that we would get a brilliant deal from the EU, and that we held all of the cards to make that deal a reality. Those exact same people are now the ones who are telling me that it didn't mention anything about a deal on the ballot paper! By trying to say that they would negotiate a better deal but give people the choice about whether or not to accept it, the Labour campaign painted itself into a corner. It left them wide open for Johnson to accuse them of delay (breathtaking when you consider that few people did more to delay Brexit than ABdP Johnson), and also open to accusations of "trying to take your Brexit away". It was a no-win for them (the membership support Remain; the country had voted Leave), but it was another area where they could be made to look indecisive in the face of Tory certainty.

Boris understood the psychology. 'Get Brexit Done'. worked. Stopping uncertainty worked. Labour's fence sitting turned voters off. So by the way did the outright revoke party.

The only demonstrable and incontrovertible evidence out there is the results of referendums and elections.

What investments? Seriously? Brexit isn't going to create any. Johnson has to look after the areas that gave him this mandate. Hartlepool isn't one of them. And which tory strongholds are going to reduce their own investments to pay for the bribes needed in the north?

The Tories actually hired two New Zealanders to coordinate this online shitstorm while Labour were putting out slick videos that probably cost a fortune the Tories were busy trolling the Internet with outright lies, half truths and hashtags like #neverCorbyn and #getbrexitdone.

Certainty in that it will happen. With a majority of 80 Boris can achieve anything he desires so the world of business can plan knowing that Brexit will happen on the 31st January. Of course there will be further negotiations after that but the will we / won't we stuff is over.
