Thanks for the link John. It really was a neutral assessment. I hope it's wrong; because if Wadsworth doesn't turn out to be complete shite, we really are running the risk of finding nothing to bitch about.

Now that would properly upset most of the whining gits on here.

My only comment (I think) was he had been previously sacked by Chester for only winning 2 out of 14 games.
Saying that if this is one of the exciting signings to whet the fans appetite then i'm very worried what the next couple are going to be!!

Look we have got a great coach with a wealth of expericence in the game that can only help and be an improvement on West. He will bring a new dimension to training and tactics, Bobby Robson had praise for him and he was one of the most repected men in the game.

I am very happy with this appointment and I for one am excited about the other signings if this is anything to go on as its a clear improvement to what we previously had.

At the moment we must be odds on for the drop into the division of death.
The way I feel at the moment is like the Billy Horner days sadx

The players are back tomorrow.

The season doesn't start til August. Whilst not ideal, it gives us plenty of time to sign players.

pools sack the reserve team manager. it was his fault, even tho the reserves played good football and finished runners up in a good league.

More to it than that chip, surely. Wasn't West also the main man when it came to first team training? Personally I'm not too fussed about how the reserves do. Scotty's reserve team won the league, but there is surely a hell of a lot more to being a number two than getting some good results in the stiffs, especially when that number two's remit includes anything close to the first team. It looks like Wadsworth's main role is going to be taking charge of training. The club have yet to even announce if he will be involved with reserve matches.

i dont know john, because as is their wont these days, ior havent told us. his job title was reserve team manager, and i know from someone who was in the dressing room at first team games, that when turner went through the tactics just before the game west wasnt involved. in fact he wasnt even present.

i assume wests role was coaching the first team. and i assume he was binned because he was no good at it. but doesnt that then cast doubt on the judgement on the bloke who brought him to the club in the first place ?

turner chose west, he didnt have him thrusted upon him. turner was also fully aware of his capabilities.

I know from someone within the club (a player) that West was heavily involved in the coaching side and also the tactics and team talks but sometimes Turner tended to take over and say his own part! I also know that from the player i know and have spoken to that the players were very annoyed and slightly upset that West has left as they enjoyed his sessions a lot and said he was a good bloke and knew when to have a laugh and when the serious work was needed. From the sounds of this it seems the players dont seem to want to perform for Turner more than anyone as although it doesnt mean half as much, West took the ressies to 2nd in the league in a tough league with the likes of middlesborough, newcastle, leeds who often played strong teams so they must have some affection for him to work hard for him and grind out results or he must have been doing something right!

I am personally still annoyed that for next season we have Turner in charge again and i would much rather have seen a new manager not just a new first team coach!!!!

thats funny, i heard pretty much the opposite! That several players were unhappy with the training last season. But they aren't there to have fun and its not up to them who trains them, they should shut their mouths and do their job properly, for a change.

I hope Wadsworth does well for us whatever it turns out his actual role will be, I am still unhappy at lots of things but I really can't be arsed airing them on here, apart from to say that I am dismayed that CT is still seemingly our caretaker manager after the last two seasons where despite being backed we have not really progressed on the field.

I haven't bought a season ticket and won't be this year but I will still go to as many games as I can at home and probably a few more away games.

Wadsworth as coach and a non league keeper are not the exciting summer signings we were promised but if someone as respected as Sir Bobby thought highly of Mick then if he is here to do whatever it is that he does best then how can it be bad?
