Let's give the new lads a chance before they're written off just because we haven't signed them from PSG or Chelsea. I seriously hope they give this board a swerve.

Amazing isn't it. If you'd said a few years ago that people would be chuffed with York and Bromley cast offs they'd have thought you were mad. It IS mad!

Same regime, same recruiters, years of failure.... expecting different results?![]()

Who's not giving anyone a chance? I said they appear no different to players recruited in previous years. There is no reason to expect different results, there is actually precedent to support thinking that it'll be a case of same old same old. Its possible we'll do well but nothing at the moment suggests that actually will until (and if) we actually do.

We have fallen more than a division the way we are run though. We're a joke shop now. Let's stop looking for excuses. When we start raising our standards which I hope one day will happen with a takeover then maybe we will start winning football games regularly. We say the same stuff about signings every year and every year it seems we stoop from one disaster to another. Fans actually raving about getting some of these players borders on ridiculous, false hope.no one says we need to get players from psg and Chelsea but they are also not fooled by the standards of the some of the players we bring in not all but a great deal of them.

Nobody is happy that we're in this league, nobody is raving about any of the signings.
But surely to f*ck this relentless daily new thread bemoaning our position or questioning every new signings doesn't need to happen? Just continue yesterday's thread ffs it's not as if the message ever changes.

"To say “Very average players” is an insult, Don,t recall their clubs chasing them.
1 of them was offered a contract by a very experinced manager, 1 was still under contract, 1 turned down a contract, 2 of the clubs finished above us and the other 5pts below us.
I could be wrong though."
Guess who said the above more or less exactly one year ago? They were indeed wrong in the end. The players were average as was our season.

Its not about blaming people its about flagging the situation we are in is way worse than its ever been in history and shouldnt be seen as a new normal

We know we're in a mess, we were yesterday, and the day before, and the day before and so on......

When people start waking up to EXACTLY why we are where we are then that will be a good day. We don't need to live in the past, the present gives us excellent examples of what can be achieved when you just start doing things right. To ignore the evidence right under your nose is turbo denial.

Which is why I like to separate managers and players from the Owner..two separate entities.

What criticism has there been? Its not criticism to say they are unremarkable NL type signings, they just are. Its weird that people are getting buoyant about it and a clear sign of how far we've fallen. I'd have much more faith in a new regime bringing in players who turned out to be Sterry's and Oates's rather than the numerous strugglers that we've had to witness.

Lighten up..if it was announced at 11 this morning the new owners were taking over and the manager and players were their targets, a few people would be ‘altering course’ and not blushing.
I have no idea if they’re shite or bright, time will tell…I was just musing over the scenario.![]()

But the title of this topic has obviously indicated an opinion on a certain player’s ability.

like it or not we have signed someone from the league above us no matter what that team is. if we were back in league 2 would we be getting upset if the player came from a smaller league 1 side. at the moment there is nothing to tell if any of these new signings will be a sterry or an oates, who many didn,t fancy at the time, or strugglers like sloggett.
