If he goes or he has gone, will his career match that of Luke James.
He goes off for pastures new and his career flops elsewhere.

I hope so. I think he's a better player than Luke James. Always seems to be more aware of where his teammates are than Luke was.

I can see Joe finishing up at Gateshead and doing really well for them.

Good player.
Anutha leaving to save his career.

And yet again anutha downgrader will enter the cesspit.

More confirmation of a no takeover.

Marvelous
Tremendous
Smashing

I was always of the opinion that grey should move on, regardless of a takeover. He needs to step up a level to get his career moving. I think most people can see that.

Agreed- with Mani gone- no way is he staying
At least he might depart for the EFL which is at least acceptable, and can't be criticised for showing some ambition. Good luck to the lad.

We’d better get used to it, there’ll be no change till there’s change at the top.

We’re like a bloke who keeps downgrading his car for a cheaper model and thinks it’s a good idea ….. stpid

need to move now even if the takeover had taken place. has an outside chance of getting an efl club even if its an accrington or a harrogate one. just hope he does not end up as part of a gang of three at bloody rochdale.

doubt there are very few signing up now new for 50 years. many will accept it but not worship it as the only option is walking away. once we die off, unable to support or stay away then thats it. who of todays new generation of kids who only see the premier league as football bother with pools unless dragged there by parents or mates. shit i forgot young teens who want to go without parents have no concessions now and have to pay full whack if they dare go in.

Exactly, non-acceptance of the situation isn't an option. Haven't seen any suggestions of worship or even happiness at the present time.
Don't want to see Joe leave, but for his own benefit he probably needs to, let's face it he's not really improved or kicked on with his development here.

I don't pretend to understand it, but there's always loads of young' uns in the Mill House stand. A lot of parents bring their kids to games, most in their replica strips. Others come in big groups, obviously paid in by some organisation or other. Doubt that's a way to grow new supporters as quite a few nick off at half-time!

Then there's the North West Corner. Those lads are hardcore Poolies. There's no way they will boycott Pools but assuming a bad start to the season, it won't be long before they turn on Raj again.

Don't know if if he is planning to turn up at the Vic again for games - my guess is he won't unless miracles happen and Pools are at the right end of the table.

Joe needs to be somewhere where he'll be playing week in week out and in a system that suits him, he needs to be in and around the box not stuck out on the wings. Not sure an EFL club will offer him that but I'm sure others in NL will.

So its Rochdale then. I might buy one of their season tickets as i will know more of the players than at the Vic.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he ends up at Gateshead if he doesn't get an EFL move. Having said that if he can't get a move to an EFL club where he's going to get game time he might decide to stay. Obviously no EFL offers for our more senior and more prolific striker were forthcoming so who knows?

Exactly what Danny Johnson needs.

Suspect he’ll get efl, wouldn’t surprise me also if he goes to Scotland so any comp isn’t needed.

Not saying he’s a world beater but he’s got a lot of potential, and typical pools to play him and build up his experience then watch as he walks away when getting into his prime

Is Joe the Stella promotion signing.
He's still a free agent.
No 800k undisclosed fee like Francis.
Not Trevor

There was life before the Premiership, there was the First Division which kids could see for free and probably watch live in this area for a reasonable price of entry and travel…..but kids still came to the Vic.
The Premiership was a marketing exercise to produce money..end of.

the thing is it has worked. bradford city run a holiday camp for kids a few miles from me. take the dogs there occasionally and the vast majority of em have premier league and even foreign teams replica kits on with only a few with there local sides ones on. must have spent a fortune after my lad got into football finding a non premier outfit dor him to support. unfortunetly he was not into pools but taking him to his choice stockport was far better than him being an armchair villa or coventry fan like most of his mates were.

It’s the greedy claws attracting the maximum return…..my lads had foreign shirts, they loved a different shirt….both had German national team shirts……I found one photo of them at Pompey, one had a Pompey shirt and the other a Rangers shirt…they were in their early teens and even dressed their four year old sister up in a Celtic shirt and put her in goal…before I intervened

If Joe ends up at fucking Gateshead that would represent the last straw for me and I suspect many others. At least Mani ended up at a proper football club with a fanbase not far short of Pools. Gateshead are nothing more than a tinpot club with a tinpot fanbase and a cardboard cutout of a stadium with an atmosphere akin to that if the lunar surface. If Singh cannot make an effort to retain Joe under such circumstances then he is a much bigger tosser than even I thought he was.

League 1n 2 start on the 2nd August so imagine it will be Rochdale Gateshead or Pools he signs for.

I'd rather Joe Grey stayed at Pools than left, but I'm not surprised he's struggling to get fixed up. 6 goals in 39 appearances last season is nothing to write home about for a forward. His record was much better the season before, when he was still under contract with us.

Joe got through an incredible amount of work tracking back in games for LL and Limbrick - maybe too much for his own good, as he was on the pitch first and foremost to score goals. He (or his agent) obviously turned down Pools' initial offer of a new contract - maybe both parties have moved on at this point?

An apparent lack of interest in him from other clubs….like you said, a poor return in goals and other fans check the stats too.
Maybe other clubs don’t rate him like some people here do….?
Time will tell.

It maybe that Pools are due compensation if he leaves and clubs are not wanting to pay the potential 6 figure fee
