The Poolie Bunker

I reckon, a £150 fine, two bags of logs and made to say “sorry” a bit until Xmas.

They'll launch an appeal and drag it out till Xmas 2027.

They'll set up a just giving page to soften the blow.

The case took nearly 2 years to put together, there will be an appeal maybe more than one which could take just as long, City have the funds to appeal, estimates the legal fella representing City charges £5000 an hour. I wouldn’t expect any decision before 2028.

Considering how long the financial rules were broken by City, how many other clubs have been detrimentally affected, and their proven non-cooperation with the investigation the only logical punishment which is proportional is expulsion from the PL for a fixed period. Everton got a points deduction and were ordered to pay Burnley (the team they popped to avoid relegation) £35m which sets a precedent.
Of course they'll continue to drag it out for as long as possible or until the Arab owners decide they've spent enough and walk away.
It's all bollocks of course, if you've got the money you should be able to spend it in a free market. Bigger threats to the sustainability of football clubs are the huge debts already in place at clubs like Man Utd, how are they allowed to operate without reducing debt while the likes of Newcastle who have bags of money can't spend it?

Once the Lawyers get involved you can safely say well all be dead by the time anything happens.

This is what I’m thinking. Then it will be “it’s unfair on the fans, players, manager, club cat! All these things happened well before our time, under different owners”

I’ve seen a bit of that now tbh.

But none of that stopped the powers throwing the book at little old Darlo. Chucking them into non league hell, forcing a name change. It’s easy to kick the little guys.

£££££££££ $$$$$$$$

transfer windows, clubs having a maximum number of players unless more boxes are ticked. international breaks with rules and regs many do not fully understand. those who invented the game must be turning in their graves seeing how false the thing has ended up.

It could happen, jokes are starting to roll.

Glasgow Rangers were demoted three divisions a few years back - that surely sets a precedent and Citeh should be relegated by four or five divisions as their crimes are greater.

So, we may soon get revenge for 3 January 1976.........

George Potter won’t be too disappointed, broken jaw ended to up being hospitalised after Tuaret head butted him in the 6-0 defeat, I remember seeing the photo of Tuaret sitting next Potter as he lay in a hospital with Tuaret apologising.

Aye, Dennis Tueart, an early example of Man City's disregard for rules and decency within football.

That's stirred up a memory I didn't want to revisit. Sitting in the stand while young City thugs ran amok, beating the shit out of the Poolies whilst the stewards stood & watched
Talk about adding insult to injury !

They Gunna get relegated for sure.
Just a matter of how many divisions.

How about they are placed in the NL !
And an extra place for promotion.

Man City will get a heap of abuse this afternoon at Liverpool. I'm not bothered about either teams or the Premier league but will tune in to watch the drama.

It seems to me that the City owners simply feel that rules, laws, regulations belong to the little clubs - thereby putting everything in jeapody. Their immediate future and in some ways the EPL itself.

Andy Manchester will sort it all out.

Serious issues, one of the people Rui Pinto who brought this up is still under police protection in Portugal, the 37-year-old hacker, who created the Football Leaks website, previously warned that revoking his protection put him in a life-threatening situation following multiple death threats and an assault in Lisbon earlier in the year.

A thirty point deduction in the Premier League for five seasons, a huge huge fine (whatever that is nowadays) 3 bags of logs and force Haarland to play for Darlo for two seasons.

That should do it.

Now call me a cynic…but we’ll see.

We all know our first fixture next season will be Man City away, I can't see the point in a fine for those cheats, so if it was me I'd make them play with 9 men for the next 5 season's.

They've got to do similar to what happened to Rangers imo, drop to EFL 2 minimum and a transfer embargo for 3 or 4 years otherwise the integrity of the whole PL goes out of the window. That's unless Burnham puts a stop to their being punished, or they win their appeal (should be very unlikely given that there new defence that the Saudi State were giving them the money rather than Sponsors, something they adamantly said wasn't the case 3 or 4 seasons ago when it was claimed they were a State owned club).
Pep always said he wouldn't stay if they were found guilty and he knew and that's why he walked.

Think you mean Abu Dhabi not Saudi. Abu Dhabi is part of the United Arab Emirates not Saudi Arabia.

Newcastle are owned by the Saudis. And in hindsight, it's easy to see why the Barcodes' new owners haven't splashed the cash to anything like the level of Citeh - they could see that sooner or later the crap was going to hit the fan.

Yep Abu Dhabi not Saudi but the point is valid imo, their story changes to suit the questions asked.
I think in time that there'll be more clubs exposed too, City won't be the only club to have falsified contracts to get around the rules.

and that could end up being literally there get out of jail card. where there is big money involved you are bound to get dirty underhand dealings and the success they have had with breaking the laws cannot be that much more than the rest as they have hardly had no opposition when winning things. if you do 80 on the motorway you,ll get a fine and points but doing 120 means a fine and ban. think city are one of the latter and many are the former. will certainly hurt the premier league no matter what the outcome is unless money wins yet again.

It’s going to lead to every club being squeaky clean and any with skeletons in the cupboard might be feeling a twitchy…there’ll be fallout from this at all levels.

I expect them to get a lot less punishment than their behaviour warrants. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if they wriggle out of it.

Maybe City n United in next seasons Championship.
What an incentive for those League One clubs going for Promotion.

Arsene Wenger reckons 100 points and a financial penalty would be insufficient punishment. I agree...

I wonder how it affects the players past and present, because they did achieve what they achieved regardless of what went wrong off the field, they never cheated in that sense..
Mind you if they got relegated down to our level even they might have a struggle to get out of it too.

with altrincham as there local rivals and there only chance of playing another club with manchester in its name would be fc united of manchester in a cup or trophy game.

Man Utd currently 3rd bottom.
Hopefully stay there
