The Poolie Bunker

Set to sign on loan from Grimsby Town, the 6’2 defender returned from injury last week playing 45 minutes for The Mariners which was his first start since February. 30 years old, formerly of Carlisle United, Charlton Athletic and Morecambe.

Sounds like we getting plenty of big lads in. We wont be bullied.

This season's version of Pools was big to begin with. What some of them have been lacking is the nous to make the most of their physical attributes.

Against FGR we won quite a few headers, which makes a change. if the ball is to be pumped forward regularly it makes sense to have the personnel to create knock downs etc from the tactic. Also a bigger advantage at set pieces. Then there is the physical presence big lads bring. We could do with a long throw specialist as well to exploit the height advantage a bit further.

Announced - signed on an initial 28-day loan.
