I'm afraid Landon has been hoodwinked by Bromby & Partners.
How can a consultancy firm of 'experts' get it so very wrong, the midfield has always been the issue for the last 2 seasons at least, so what do they do sign 2 prolific forwards who are now bit part players cos we don't have anyone who can drive forward from midfield and deliver a through ball.

It's hardly rocket science, Pools supporters could have told them where we needed to improve.

Now all the budget is gone and we are stuck with what we have in midfield.

blame the pools fans. we should all have set themselves up as experts and become consultants. we might differ in some ways but not totally different. remember talking to a scout who never sat in the main stand but on the terraces to find out what the real fans thought about a player or there team. LS could have saved himself a lot of money if he had asked us lot.

I have noticed a few posters who very rarely post are now voicing their concerns about Pools currently, I hope Smith is reading the Bunker and takes notice as it’s not the usual half dozen posting.
Bromby, Clark and Clayton have no experience in the National League, Clark is the build of Dave Jones and a cross between Sarl and Hartley.
I doubt Challinor would return as he has set his sites on managing a Championship club, it doesn’t always work out with a manager returning plus he would want funds, the pot is empty Clark has said, it didn’t work out with Cooper second time round unfortunately.

I don’t think the problem is as bad as it looks. For me 2 attacking midfield loanees will solve the problem

Under the new regime we have tried to build a team to get us back into the EFL we have replaced the forward line improved the defence brought in a fantastic keeper but have left the engine room the same you don’t build a racing car and leave an underperforming unreliable engine in it because sure as night follows day you will not win anything

I agree they don’t even have to be spectacular players just able to pass a ball and a manager that plays his players in their best positions and doesn’t play old school football.

5 games in isn't time to write the season or manager and coaches off.
I agree a loanee or 2 and a change of tactics will make a big difference.

any of the 92 clubs in the league. remember cleary. its about contacts at other clubs and the ability to get the right men in. its just loanees are a bit of a hit and miss for all clubs as we know quite well.

If any of partners of Bromby have been watching Pools they will have identified where the problems in the team are, the problem is they need to persuade Smith to part with some cash to fund it as Clark has said the budget has been used.

There in lies the issue, a professional football consultancy firm could not spot the midfield issues when they assessed the players that were @ Pools, before planning their recruitment campaign for this season.

They signed strikers then hoped hoof football no need for midfielders would be a great tactic to score goals, obviously no idea about football in the National League.

do not think we are playing hoofball to strikers. for me its the obsession of playing the ball out wide and putting crosses into the box without a real plan B. the big clumsy defenders in this league love that heading practise they get against static strikers.

B & P simply looked at the figures and assumed Pools had a decent defence but lacked goals. Their simple solution was to bring in some goal scorers. Anyone who had actually witnessed Pools play would have realised that the lack of goals was a result of a paucity of chances created mainly as a result of a midfield lacking creativity. Strikers are impotent without chances. I estimate that at NL level only one out of three 'golden' chances result in goals so we need chances and the goals will come.
