In both games things have changed with the use of a strong bench. I do think that Eccleston should now be a starter at right back as the difference after he has come on in both games has been noticeable both defensively and supporting the midfield. Well done lads and NSD.

Aldershot are a hard working side who overran us at times in midfield. We need to address this with a Tinkler/ Boland type.
We were the bigger goal threat throughout the game. Their main threat came down their left flank but although their wide man was tricky and fast, thankfully his end product was poor.
Our defence was rock solid and we have got a diamond in goal. Keeping him fit is crucial to where we finish in my opinion. He catches everything in sight but I fear that someone will clatter him sooner or later. It nearly happened yesterday.
Although we had a few half chances, the tactical change and substitutions in the second half swung the game in our favour, particularly in the midfield area.
I was impressed by the wall to wall noise the Aldershot fans created and they kept it up for the whole match, which was a credit to them.
Once again an excellent turnout from our fans.
Although we are not displaying any slinky football, as yet, amassing points is the name of the game. So far we are faultless in that quest and long may it continue.
Sutton looks like a big test and I think midfield is where it will be won or lost. Another body in there might be the key to returning home with at least something.
A bit of a nice bonus was meeting Jeff Stelling and chatting for a few minutes.

know its only early days but i feel we have ticked off a couple of boxes that we have not seen for years that might relax us in games. we look like scoring and we do not look like conceeding every time a team attacks us. Obviously we will draw a blank and end up conceeding 3 or 4 in a game sometime but it does not look nailed on like in the past.

Unless a key defender gets sent off or the keeper gets injured I cannot see us conceding three or four. Of course we will lose games but I suspect we are looking at 1-0 or 2-1. Our defence seems fairly solid.

Early days, but Clark might turn out to be the most tactically astute manager we've had in some time. Good changes after half time won us the game, and he's not afraid of taking our star players off.

The manager is obviously aware that we now have a 16 a side contest and so has cobbled together a set of players who have so far shown that there aren't any weak links and even if a player is having an off game he is able to slot in someone just as capable. Added to that the versatility within his squad gives him different tactical options.
There has been a lot of thought, hard work and determination put into assembling this squad and it is showing like a beacon.
As long as we are not decimated by injuries and suspensions the signs are we know how to win games as well as how to keep the back door shut.
We need the fans to continue to back the main plan and that is to get back to the EFL with a set up that keeps us there.
The icing will come later.

Pleased with the result as I listened to an interview with a Shots team expert on Tees during the week who said that they had used their meagre budget wisely and amongst their many signings had brought in 4 players who had captained their former clubs in the National League South last season.

Apparently our away following was the biggest of the day for division 5.

Brilliant considering the long journey.
