Very reasonable attitude from their new manager. The only question now is whether Halifax will get any compo.

AS has been said before I know a lady who worked at Southend united dealing with contracts. I asked When a club has to offer the option of another year, she said the player should be asked and give his acceptance of the new offer before the end of the regular season. If as stated in the article it was June 5th then they were too late.
I am sure they made a similar cock up in Manni D contract some people never learn. Now Pools need to get the ok from the FA as son as possible.

Surely any offer of another season contract should logically be on offer long before the end of the season….did an extension offer come in and only after an approach was made to the player….?
If my contract at work had ended and my employer had never raised the question of an extension, I’d assume I wasn’t wanted and be off at the closing date of my contract….offering me a new contract after hearing another company had approached me with a job offer would only strengthen my resolve to not return.hb

From a Poolie's point of view all that really matters is that Will Harris is free to play for us.

If it's now a compensation issue that will be resolved at some point behind the scenes, like the compo for Joe Grey was last season. Did we ever find out what York paid Pools for him? It's ancient history now.

I thought £60k was the amount the Tribunal decided, and I'm pretty sure Uggla stayed publicly it had been paid smartish after the judgement.
Be interesting to see if Joe can kick in at a higher level, he seemed to be a bit of a peripheral figure for York in the 2nd half of the season if memory serves me right.

I'd be surprised if we had to pay Halifax anything.
Unlike Joe Grey. he's over 24 so don't think that applies- also Joe was with us for years- Harris only had one season at Halifax, so they did a lot less of the development work that we did.

Plus, that other lad (is it Taylor Cooke) has now signed for Shrewsbury - so we (Pools and Shrews) can't both be wrong. Halifax just need to admit that they've dropped TWO massive administrative bollocks, and need to move on. Someone needs sacking for that- as that's potentially cost them a small fortune, nevermind!

I agree, I don't think Halifax will gets penny for either player.

its not just the money its that the natives are rising and will be trying there best to keep them on side to sell season tickets. fans hate cock ups behind the scenes that weakens their club.

Given the pitiful size of their ‘crowds’….shouldn’t you be quoting season ticket holder for whoever it is that buys it..this season.
