The Poolie Bunker

Cheers Imp I owe you one. What a guy as Trump would say.

Leggie, what a great guy, what a brilliant guy.

Well thank you very much for those nice words Mr.Imp it's much appreciated mate.

Did I say that? I can't remember

Have you two set a date for the wedding

Realpolitik Snowy. Make the most of the peace because war is inevitable.

It's them drugs your taking they are causing you to literally lose your mind. Good thing is though Imp you only need to go to A.E. if you find yourself repeatedly waking up in the middle of the night in a hot sweat with a hard on shouting Starmer Starmer I love you Starmer but you should be fine. Not sure about Mutters though.

Can I divorce him before I marry him.

Trump won't allow that don't worry Imp.

To be honest about this Ukraine business..I don’t give a flying fuck…..it gets sorted and you wait…then another war comes along eventually ……after a short wait.
It breaks the monotony I suppose.

I think the vast majority understand that war = money. But unfortunately also the loss of innocent lives aswell

When I’m at war with she who must be obeyed it costs me money

we must be the only animal on this planet that will fight even if our own territory is not threatened. fact is there are some around who cannot wait to get stuck in and kill another in a different uniform or even a civilian of that country if they are there and not necessary in there way.

Typical Snowy answer as long as it doesn’t affect him, people and children being massacred and you don’t give a flying f***, what a selfish twat you are

who gave a flying one when white farmers and their families were getting murdered in zimbabwe or south africa. it hardly made the news unless you looked further than our msm. think we all know why without it having to be spelt out.

We do Accy but don't tell Jamie it upsets him. Afterall he is a delicate sole.

I remember seeing loads of that on the news accrington. One news snippet I still see in my mind and I hate it...it was a dog chained to its kennel and it was cowering inside and the bastards were throwing rocks at it. I wish I could unsee it.

Correct….I grew weary of it from experience . When you stop crying over dead bodies, even in private, you realise human nature in some people is not very pleasant.
When did you stop crying over war…..or are you just another populist windbag chasing the wind of outrage…..I think the answer is self evident…..well to normal people… and you are a humourless little man

Easy to bully a poor animal try foooking bullying me you pure pack of evil bastards. They not human Mutters they simply can't be.

Has anyone on here read 1984 lately?

If you're fed up of this war don't, but if you can remember the plot and the way it feels, the similarities are striking.

For instance the daily newsfeed of unspeakable acts carried out by the enemy in the "perpetual war" - that's what we get now from our 24/7 news channels and from the internet. No doubt the Russians are getting the same.

Absolutely, the Russians have Putin TV and that's it.

Across Europe. We have left leaning, right leaning and everything in between for news sources. We have pro leaning and anti leaning agencies of their respective current governments. All would love a good scandal, it makes them money and maybe furthers their political desires. They are entirely free to do this and do so on an almost daily basis. Unless someone believes some far fetched massive European wide cover up across thousands of news sources (if anyone does, fair enough but they are beyond help) then there just is no scandal to uncover. There's the difference.

It’s on my bookshelf alongside the Gulag Archipelago ….The one scene that gets me is the camera in every house watching your every move.
We’ll end up having two channels….one proclaiming how wonderful our rulers are and the second channel has a presenter saying turn back to channel 1 on a loop.

we are slowly getting there when the majority are quite happy to carry around a device that can track your every move if they wish. get away with that and its not that big a step to a camera in your home. then another covid type of thing will again show how the majority can be controlled and spy on neighbours like we saw. looking back would our parents or grandparents have took all this as easy as a lot of us have done. fought a long war for freedom from tyranny for many now who would accept it for the common good.

More misinformation Here are the facts, you can get the BBC news in Moscow but you can't get Russia Today in London

I always feel the media of the mainstream news sources in this country all have a similar central mindset at both ends of the political spectrum.
The smug middle class at prayer…the voice of the holiday home in Portugal.
You never get the full picypture.

Misinformation?! The irony

I'm not sure what counter propaganda we can put into the shipping forecast and documentaries on Kenyan folk music but there you go.

Have a look at YouTube channel 1420 by Danil Orain to see what Russia is really like.

The whole point is, everybody has a viewpoint different from everyone else.
We can choose an article or viewpoint to suit our taste and reinforce our individual perspectives or prejudices.
Tis the way of the world….I like to look at random European news broadcasters for an insight.

Can anyone ever trust Putin in any form of a cease fire, it would just give him the excuse to re arm ?

So it just goes on for eternity…?

Up to Russia. Ukraine are being reasonable.

Give up NATO: reasonable
Don't expect Russian held territory back: reasonable
Trust Putin with all his past form, without any security guarantees: not reasonable
Disarm themselves so COMPLETELY defenceless: not reasonable

Agreements are made when BOTH sides are making compromises. The Americans seem quite happy that Ukraine are, hence why the ball is in Putins court.

Surely it also gives Europe and Ukraine time to arm and prepare deterrents too?
Putin won't live forever, the peace may outlive him.
