The Poolie Bunker

Just had a look back at my own records from 1986 of naval vessel numbers pre the collapse of Russia in the late 80’s..the figures speak for themselves.

Frigates…l986….48 frigates with 12 on order.
2025…8 frigates operational new ones ordered in 2023

Destroyers 1986 24 destroyers
2025….6 destroyer's some on ordering 2023.

Minesweepers1986…40 minesweepers.
2025…7 minesweepers

Submarines 1986…37 submarines
2025….9 submarines.

Same across all the forces, figures speak for themselves.

The U.K. like many were loured into a false sense of security about world peace and run down their armed forces till Ukraine happened, the only invasion which was mentions before was China invading Taiwan.

then whats the size of the navies of all the scandinavian countries who also have large coastlines who have not been agressors for over 1,000 years and they also want peace.

In 86 Sweden had 3 destroyers….9 submarines and 39 torpedo boats..but the coast of Sweden is long and very craggy..so ambush tactics were the fashion hence the number of small torpedo craft.
Now they have 4 subs, 5 small corvettes and 120 small fast patrol boats( fire and leg it types)

In WW2 the Germans thought they could destroy our air defences then an invasion but they didn’t take into account our very brave and courageous men of the RAF.
Next time round which I hope it doesn’t happen we will be obliterated by missiles first, not bombers, we have little or no air defences to stop missiles then a land invasion will possibly happen, we might even surrender before a land invasion to stop any further destruction.

We won't be invaded by force but via the Islamification of the UK.

The biggest loser in the so called Peace dividend was Ukraine who gave up their nuclear weapons

To be fair, the Germans accidentally bombed London.
Churchill ordered a retaliatory attack on Berlin and Adolf went full bitch mode for revenge…hence the bombing of London and the Blitz which diverted attacks from the RAF airfields giving them the opportunity to ‘get their breath back’ and rebuild up the airfield structure and replacement aircraft.
Adolf was never really keen on crossing the channel, he had his eye on Russia.

Just as well, we'd all be dead now

I’m staggered when somebody is disgusted they never had the chance to use their atomic weapons….it reveals a startling lack of comprehending the aftermath…comic book heroes aren’t for real and nuclear weapons aren’t just bigger bombs..

Who has said that?

It would have been a deterrent Mr Horden

No it wouldn’t, it’s a nuclear weapon, not a conventional weapon….. if you actually used it it would be the end game, no one wins…mutually assured destruction..MAD seems appropriate.

It would have been a deterrent if Ukraine still had Nukes...Russia would not have invaded...MAD like you say snowy.

Trouble is you only need one desperate nutter on the button…that’s my fear…pity we couldn’t uninvent them

There's 2 nutters in power with the buttons within reach at the moment...Trump and Putin.

No way will either of these great leaders fook up like that. The only two that scare me are Iran & the far left in Europe.

Far left in Europe??

Yes, it is actually a thing.

Unlike the completely made-up far-right in the UK

Yes Kenny spot on.

When the Orange glow speaks the evils of the world and soft touches listen.. fact..The purple hair brigade need to wake up ffs!!The World needs a Policeman and President Donald J Trump is the man..no doubt about it.
Goodnight..at least we can sleep tight.

Correct a trillion % Mr.Sussex. But always remember you can take a horse to water but it's impossible to make it drink.

Can’t stop laughing your as thick as the yanks who voted for him the same Yanks who are now turning against him going by his popularity ratings.
Tell me what Trump has achieved, up to now by withdrawing all his support from allowing Ukraine to use their communications systems its allowing Russia to bomb the hell out of them killing innocent people including children because Ukraine can’t track the Russian missiles and drones.

Is your surname Wright and your first name Always…….

No that's you.

Correct…and I never went to Dyke House either.

Marvellous.

Wonderful, Wonderful Copenhagen….

I've never stopped laughing since you were bragging about the being top dog in billion pound work meetings..Well since Trump took over it's the first time I've heard the words Peace talks, Jamie

He’s a secret fan really…..just not prepared to come out of the closet yet.
…or Walter Mitty.

Peace as long as he gets what he wants.

I think those mad fookers would've used it

You do know that to get the go ahead to fire a nuclear weapon, you have to go through tier upon tier of command chains before getting the go ahead to fire it. Its not a case of Trump waking up after a bad nights sleep, and saying " Fook it ! those neo liberals in Europe are going to have it" BOOM !

In that respect the Russian's are more transparent than any of the Western countries, and I think the world is safer as a result, it will be the same in China and I hope in America too. Its the Europeans, who seem intent on putting the world in danger at the moment, the so called good guys, the nice people, the people who are in complicit in the death and maiming of a million Ukrainians and Russians and who want another million to go the same way. Its weird that the so called bad guys, bad people are the ones attempting to end this needless war and waste of money that could be spent on better things, like improving the lives of their citizens, something by the way the Russians and Chinese are doing, whilst in Europe our leaders are plunging more and more people into poverty and sleeping in shop doorways, at the same time as some of our children are earning decent wages but will never be able to afford to buy a house.

Your social comment is right but without defence the whole country is vulnerable. You remind me of Cardinal Kent from CND.

.

Why would Putin even think of using nuclear weapons
Why destroy what you’re trying to get ….and inherit an uninhabitable nuclear wasteland.
Doesn’t make sense…even doing it out of some kind of spite leaves him with a nuclear wasteland on his very borders.

Access to nuclear weapons in the larger states ain’t a case of walking in and pressing the button because someone has pissed you off,
Trump has to go through many protocols to get anywhere near and win approval of the congress and senate…..it’s the loony states you worry about or the ones without serious levels of verification.
Funny thing is when you are physically next to them it’s hard to imagine their potential….

Indeed he would only think of SAYING he would use them. As he knows it causes irrational shaking in boots and general quaking and qualing around Europe.a to to get his own way. As we've seen, there lots of things happening routinely in Ukraine that he said would be an act of war if they were begun.

Yes it would have been a deterrent. The whole cold war never got hot because of deterrence. Nukes = not getting invaded.

I can't stop laughing because you're calling people thick.

Are those Yanks you refer to yanks or Yanks?

Are you aware of punctuation?

You did pretty well to end up running Ewing Oil despite these limitations Bobby.

Until you woke up in the shower...

A lot of lesser leaders probably accept the ‘better red than dead’ beloved of certain groups in the 60’s and 70’s.

or now better the WEF than dead where western europe is concerned.

Cardinal Kent…I despise the bloke.
I believe in strong defence and we’ve been cutting it since the end of the Cold War.
I despise weak politicians and this shower of clowns trying to look tough when any realistic assessment of their proposals shows it’s all window dressing….and before anyone says it’s picking on Napoleon Starmer this started in the early 80’s under John Knott who’s swingeing cuts gave the Argentinians the idea of invading the Falklands….and it’s been snipping away ever since.l.
No defence, no country eventually.

Put it this way Horden we wouldn't be having this discussion today we would no longer be alive.

Yet again Horden the voice of reason in all this silly nonsense of mud throwing.

Exactly

I tend to find that if you’re thinking of taking over countries, it’s sensible not to make uninhabitable first.
Kind of defeats the purpose.
Therefore you need well equipped and trained conventional forces…get the trained part wrong and you’ve wasted your money.
A lesson we could learn ….two aircraft carriers that rent a handful of F35B’s in for show purposes …..just about sums it up.

He thinks he is " Billy Big Bollocks " now that he has 2 minders but who gives a fook I certainly dont. Wrong is wrong and right is right. These people need to stop watching the propaganda news and actually spend a long time doing some proper researching to be able to arrive at the truth.

So THATS why everyone wants to move to Russia

Can you get RTV still?
