My advice is the longer you work the quicker you die.
So I suppose its finding that happy medium.

Seen a fair few work till 66ish and dead before 70.

worst case of that i know of was a woman who carried on till she was 65 when she could have retired at 60 working in a lost property office. she collapsed and died hours after she went home at 5pm.

Another myth we've fallen for, in order to raise the retirement age, that people are living longer, possibly on average, but not amongst the poor, the very people who are likely to have jobs that require them to work up until they are 70+.

Maybe the rich elite want them to go on the sick and claim benefits for the last few years of their working life, or maybe they never want to pay them the state pension.

Looking at the amount of Red Bull cans, vapes and takeaway cartons and wrappers littering the place, I can see why people will be dying younger in the not too distant future.

On the news during the week that Rachel's considering slashing cash Isa's from 20k to 4k next month.
Creating a shit load of Xtra tax for the government while at the same time destroying a lot of early retirement plans.

From April onwards we all Gunna feel this huge hike in the cost of living for sure!!

I have always maintained that the statement 'Hard work never killed anyone' is a complete load of rubbish. Hard work killed my father before retirement age whereas my cushy white collar jobs and early retirement means I have outlived my dad by over 20 years and can still play two racquet sports.

Hmm….funny one that…up to my mid 30’s it was enjoyable but tough going..I had loads of injuries, stitches galore, breaks, ( my nose three times) in all extremes of weather so had a family and eventually decided to get a daft job….but all the lads I was with are all still on the go none the worse for wear……what did for my old feller was drink and cigarettes….him and his mates
Neither of which figured in my life that much and never even tried a a fag, never appealed……of course it also depended on what industry you were in…not do much the physical side but the toxic side of the work…got to admit racquet sports have a mortality rate too…from personal experience but not participatory.

The wisdom of my nana….. ‘We’ve all got to die of something, nobody died of nothing’…a philosopher and she never knew it :laugh:

And unfortunately Cancer will always be the biggest death reason.

yes and look at the places where life expectancy is the lowest. not exactly the leafy suburbs of surrey is it. its the run down areas of the north yet again. its not as if the pm is two tier its the whole of the bloody country.
