Trump will stretch American democracy to his own ends and has a lot of support in doing that. The problem is people don't know it's gone until they wake up one day and find their views are now leading to their own persecution. People crave a strongman here as well but dictatorships of the left and right always end badly unless you're in the elite of that country.

in a way all leaders are, but some can be voted out and others cannot. really in the usa what was the alternative.
