The Poolie Bunker

Saw a news item about A pub down South called the ‘Midget’….it’s named after the iconic MG Midget sports car but is to have it’s name changed to the ‘ Roaring Raindrop’ because a woman who who heard about’s named organised a campaign to change the name because she found it offensive….yet has never ever even visited the pub….. which is in Midget Close
This idea of conceding to 5he easily offended is getting out of control.
Will I need to get my ‘Midget Gems’ off a dealer in future.

So taking it to the extreme those owners of that classic car icon will need to have them rebadged as MG Roaring Rainbows too?
When will the madness stop?

Are you offended by this lady who was offended?? How has it impacted on your life??

She's welcome in The Giants Rest and The Long Man if she's down this way.

Shouldn't you be patrolling the beaches of the South Coast protecting this Great Nation from the hordes of invaders???

I think most of us are offended by the way history is being artificially distorted and free speech inhibited by the minority easily offended.

In what way may I ask?? Can you give me some examples of history that has been 'artificially distorted'??
In your own time of course.

Changing pub names, street names, tearing down historical monuments, coloured folk playing white historical characters, all at the whim of the ultra sensitive.
Didn't take long did it?

Don't rule out our England getting its name changed.
Them lot own it now due to the tories.

That's just a list. I asked for examples.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt...sort of...but can you name me these 'historical monuments' that have been tore down??
Surprised you never mentioned Christmas, Nativity Plays and Nursery Rhymes though...needed them for a full house!!!

The South Coast?? It's been called Little Africa for a while now,Mutley..

Even Poole??

It's a list of examples. Then you added to it with your own, thank you.

No problem.
But can you name me these 'historical monuments' that have been torn down??

the obvious one was the bristol statue. many have been defaced with paint. nobody mentions the ancestors of these people who have had monuments defaced as they,ll be equally and with reasons to be concerned than a stupid wench who has no knowledge of history of a car marque.

So if you had a cute door sign that said ‘Mutley’s Mansion’ and some Karen demanded you rip it down because she never liked his cartoons, would you take it down….?
Well would you.

seeing as i,m on here i,ll do it for him with just one name. Mary Seacole.

Doesn't count.

its not a case of being offended by anything like that its a case of being annoyed by something where no offence has ever been given. do not want to get personal with anybody or their views on here or anywhere, but do you actually believe what you post on subjects a bit political.

I don't understand what you are trying to say. Can you be a bit more precise??

I don't understand this either...Mary Seacole??

why, because it does not suit your agenda. how about the first black train driver, bus driver, fireman etc etc. whose only claim of historical fame is being black and the first. no more a relavance than me being the first poolie to become a bus inspector in huddersfield.

just look up her achievements in life to what a certain section say she did and compare how her life was blown out of all proportion to fit an agenda.

Wtf??

That's just horseshit!!

It doesn't count because I wasn't asking you!!! And also what you posted is just noise.

Greene King have previous for doing away with historic pub names

And the story behind the name

Feminist's thought Penelope Pitstop was offensive. The Hooded Claw was just a stalker...Maybe it's time you changed your username,Mutley??.

Aye read that, Think they called her Molly Shortarse.

Hasn't that already happened? Aren't they now Mini Gems?

just wonder how long Black Magic chocolates can last or a king in cards being seen as a higher value than a queen. then the knives commonly known as a zombie knife should be banned just for the name only as it has connections to haiti creole culture of the past.

I like how pubs in the town have their names changed i.e. Stag & Monkey = Slag & Junkie and pub on Dunston rd next to Aldi becomes Aldi Arms.

Is Cock & Bull offensive?

Well?

Yes because I wouldn't want to offend anyone.
But I'm not taking my poster of Sam Fox on the back of my bathroom door down for any fucker though!!!

Isn't that offensive to girls with small boob's.

I couldn't give a fuck...no one touches my Sam!!!

Samantha Fox… Have you had a sex change, if not, she’s not your type..

Is that what you call it

Think she might've gone to Dyke House, rough as f*ck in her latest wedding photos.

There’s a connection there…Ozzy must have been gonna spill the beans. mind you she is 58.

I'm into 80's Sam.

Knew you'd like that Mr.Leggie.

Mutley the Sun newspaper reader. ...Who'd have thought it eh..

Only one page….(3)…..

I just had this terrible image of opening a Portakabin and finding him there..

Don't read newspapers me like but when I did it was the Mirror. But early 90's I went a bit mental in the head for about 3 months....I actually bought the Daily (spew) Mail and the Tele(vomit)graph. I've gotten over it now though....but some scars still haven't healed!!
BTW...Sussex...are you still selling 'Bulldog' outside the Falmer Stadium?? Heard you had a roaring trade at feethams in the 80's selling it...before 1 game you actually sold 4 copies!°
