Seeing adverts all the time on TV for these people showing their latest gadget for measuring every aspect of their health… I saw one that does an ECG scan for you…which begs the question why would you want to be constantly doing ECG’s on your self…madness

I have an ECG scan, a blood pressure machine & an oxyometer. My heart is fooked, so if I feel unwell or can feel my heart racing, I check my BP & do an ECG, to check I am not in an irregular rhythm, before I waste my time going to A&E.

If you have health problems, these home devices do come in handy at times, so for some of us it's not madness Snowy!!

If you need them you need them, but I’m referring to people who don’t need them constantly using them, the clues in the title …’ Hypochondriac’

Peace of mind for some people, doesn’t do any harm to self check every few months, each to their own more so if there is a history of heart problems etc in their family.

I am NOT referring to people with known health problems.
If a fit person goes through life like that…. obsessed with constantly checking their health for things they don’t have, then they’re one sad obsessive individual….but society has become more obsessed with their own mortality.

If football does that to you, you are leading a sad life. It’s annoying, but no one dies.
Check your blood pressure just to be safe..

we do not have a set of weigh scales in the house or a season ticket for a gp surgery either. bloody health gadgets, keep fit regimes and diets eating stuff they might not like because somebody tells you its good for you. i,m sure all that is a good description of what hell on earth really is. then motoring adds are as bad where you get told what the emmisions are. never look at them or interested but some must do. just imagine forking out for a car you do not really like but its got lower ones than the one you really like. you are only here once so just enjoy yourself if it does not affect your family and friends. even the ones obsessed by their own mortality die but their life will feel longer even if it isn,t.

every bloody thing in life today is a big business with somebody trying to extract money out of you. the difference between business and crime is you need money to start the former.

It’s not doing the person with no known health problems any harm, it keeps them away from the GP Surgery. Plenty of health problems you might not be aware of like diabetes, high cholesterol levels etc kits to check them out are available even for bowel cancer.

Men are the worst offenders for not having regular health checks leading ‘to it’s too late you should have come before’ more so for prostate cancer. I was ‘ lucky’ my prostate cancer was identified at an early stage and I was able to have treatment. Similarly I had a colonoscopy as blood was detected in my s*** fortunately that came back clear, I have a PSA Test and cholesterol test once a year, better being safe than sorry, I regularly check my blood pressure, not hypochondriac just looking after myself for the few years I have left on the planet. I moderate my intake of alcohol, I was a real p*** artiste years ago and try to stick to a decent diet and keep my weight down.

If it wasn’t for the light relief arguments and wind ups all we would have left is the football….think about it…. there’d be tumbleweeds rolling about and doors creaking as the remaining four posters (the Grumbleweeds) chunter about relegation.
You know it makes sense

I don’t see it is a laughing matter Snowy, Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. More than 52,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year on average – that's 144 men every day. Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 12,000 men every year.

i have a yearly check up for blood pressure and a 6 month one for glaucoma. luckily for me both at the moment are kept in check. however thats far different from the type who gets a headache and think its a brain tumor every time. there is being sensible about your health without being obsessed about it and anybody who seem to be time wasters should be charged for wasting somebodies time that could be used on the genuine ill. funny how so many who think they have mobility problems buy a scooter but are quickly up for dancing at the club.

Six months between blood pressure checks seems incredibly inordinately long.

Behave…..I was referring to an advert featuring fit blokes in a gym one of whom whips out his ECG gadget and tell the lads ( male models) that he checks himself several times a day, that’s undiluted bollocks.
Does he have a gadget for every possible condition he could contract, or just the ones advertised on the box..is he that busy with his ECG gadget he contracts something else….or will he be doing fist pumps if the gadget tells him he has a problem to prove it works….leavebthose things for people who actually do need them, not hypochondriac’s .
I did not need a lecture on prostrate cancer or any other quotations from TV adverts.
I have a medical/ blood test every year a B12 jab every quarter, never smoked and haven’t had a drink for over 10 years but never really a fan anyway and have Darth Vader and Chewbacca out twice a day….haven’t the time or inclination to get absorbed in my own mortality, just getting on with life….no one gets out alive anyway.
You have .to die of something one day, no one dies of nothing. Chill.
