Doesn't play for us incase anyone was wondering as a lot of people still seem to think he does the way they talk about him after every match.

In all honesty its getting kind of boring now hearing the same thing over and over again, no one mentioned him after the Oldham match suprisingly though, wonder why?

Can't his name be stuck in the swear filter or something?

No doubt our Mad Statistician could count how many times on this list people have said that Adam Boyd was the best, or amongst the best, players ever to play for the Pools. I hope he comes back one day. I said at the start of the season that he will score more goals than Moore. So would Porter if given the chance.

In the meantime, Gibb out, Foley in.

Nope, we're definitely not going to start censoring subjects such as Adam Boyd. I don't think Adam Boyd (goalscorer) would be too bothered but if we're going to start banning subjects such as potential goalscorers like ermmmm,.... Adam Boyd then we may as well shut the doors now.

I entirely stand by that. In terms of natural ability and lethal finishing Adam Boyd was the best player ever to wear the shirt.

Its a message board about football and Pools yet were not allowed to talk about an ex hartlepool lad doing great in our division.

I like your logic Poolie Girl.

Stick to posting team line ups on all the pools board-they are your most interesting posts.

Boydy will always be a legend to 90% of Pools fans. Yeah, everyone has a few critics and so did he but at the end of the day he had some bad times here (of his own doing) but he worked at getting fit and the loan to Boston got his head in order and realised he wanted to play for his home town club. He subsequently come good and generated 500k for our club. That coupled with his goal/game ratio which must be about the best in the clubs history makes me wonder how anyone can say they are sick of his name being mentioned!

I dont care if he liked a bevvie or twenty, he still had enough ability to be deemed a poolie legend.

If we had re-signed him we would have had two gods in the team!

Yes he was good... but gone. It's like looking back on an old girlfriend and speculating what might have been ....try paying some attention to the one you've got ...if you follow the analogy and reasoning.

Joe Allon was a legend but now, allegedly. is a tw@t

Adam Boyd was a legend, but (ok allegedly) couldn't wait to leave but he's not a tw@t because he scores goals for other teams...

Steve Howard was a tw@t because he played for pools, now he is in the premiership and is not a tw@t

Ritchie Humphries is a God Tw@t because some people love him and others don't but he plays for pools

Matty Robsons a tw@t and so is ali bongo

I obviously could go on but the message is clear

Play for pools and your a Tw@t

leave and you might be looked on fondly...for a while

its simple
as long as you can keep up with it sctatchinghead stpid yawn1

Since when did everyone on here get so defensive?

I was simply pointing out that the response of "I see Boydy scored again" gets tiresome after a while. We've got Barker who has got the same ammount of league goals as Boydy so far, we've got Brown who has got the same league and cup total up to now and who is to say that trend won't continue. In my eyes we've got other more pressing issues to talk about right now like a defence that looked unbreakable last season now leaking silly goals. There was a point last season where you felt we would always get at least a draw with our mean defence, now there is a bit of a sense of panic there and some of the basics are just not being carried out.

Yes Boydy was a cracking player, I never denied that as in my opinion he is one of the most talented players in my time watching Pools. That third goal against the Wendies at the Vic was sublime and will live long in my memory. But, as snowy and timmy said as well, its gone and hes history now and I'm entitled to my opinion on that just as the rest of you are.

Oh and the swear filter comment was tongue in cheek by the way, seeing as the guard you all put up wouldn't let that bit of sarcasm through.

The problem appears to be, that the defenders don't have total trust in the keeper.
There is also a school of thought that Antwi and Nelson are too similar.

Not sure, how you fix the first one, but the solution to the second one has been
expressed as many times as 'I see Boydy's scored again'.

I'm pleased Boydie is scoring a few goals down in the smoke, good luck to him.

I think his move to Orient is similar to when he came back to us from Boston. We shook him up by sending him out on loan, he didn't like it, I can only presume he wasn't a happy chappy at Luton either, he looks to be enjoying himself at Orient.

A happy Boydie is a scoring Boydie. As for being lazy, that's just his style, all fans will think he's lazy.

Ah bugger it, the aim of this thread was to get people to stop talking about him, now all we've done is talk about him!!!

Jonny,Ive said this before & Ill say it again especially for the benefit of Jonny.
Luton gave us £500,000 for a player that ended up being no use to them, there is no way they were going to give us the player back too.

He is now Orients player, not ours, good luck to the lad I hope he does the business (obviously not when we play them) but we have to move on with our own team.Kev mentioned James Brown,I think we have potentially our best player ever in Mr Brown.

Very valid point well made.

If he'd actually been out of contract it may have changed things with regards to whether or not we'd have had any chance of signing him even if DW had wanted to.

Oh lots of people will know bits of the story that make up the whole. If it was me and the idea was floated I'd say no because the weight of expectation would dog me whenever I pulled the shirt on and he'd know how notoriously fickle Pools fans are.

I think the point is, he didn't, he isn't and maybe it's time to wish the lad good luck and stop the what if's...........every time we get nil, the same faces will say...'but if we'd signed Boyd..' which obviously isn't true.
