Any chance our new MP will lobby Starmer to re-open them…?
While he’s at it he can ask about the Hospital services too…although forget that, Starmer appointed the bloke who masterminded the removal of services from Hartlepool to be the new MP last time and it didn’t turn out well as I recall.

Our MP is way down the pecking order of the Labour Party, we had Mandleson Blair’s mate and what did he do for Hartlepool ? If Mortimer had anything about her and wanted to be re elected she should have been lobbying for the return of The Magistrates Court and a new hospital but like the rest of our past MPs no matter from what party they do bot all for Hartlepool, we are a ‘little forgotten village’ in the N.E.

Mandelson did nothing..I thought I it would benefit the town when he got elected, looks like we were just a glorified park bench to be sat on when needed.
Starmer said a few days ago he considered resigning after the Hartlepool defeat…..perhaps if the Hartlepool electorate were a bit more unpredictable in their choice of party to vote for we might get a bit more attention.
We’re predictable and can be taken for granted so Labour can ignore us.
Darlington is a bit more unpredictable and profited from it.

Yes the magistrates needs to be reopened as apart from the obvious of justice at "home" it will increase spending around the town from bases of the lawyers and avoid the ridiculous trips to the Boro.
If you get the number 36 or 1 bus to the Boro it is rammed with criminals bragging about their exploits.
This obsession of Middlesbrough being "capital" of Teesside must end.........the Stockton area would be a much better location for counts and other public services covering the Tees Valley.

think money could be used better than having a magistrates court reopened in the town. how about something that benefits the whole town and not something the majority will never use or come into contact with.

The Boro lot have always believed the Boro is the Big City’ well in their minds anyway.
Cleveland was ran by the woolly back lot over in the Loftus and Eston area and there weren’t many mourners at that funeral….
The Court should definitely be re-opened, Hell fire if Peterlee have one we definitely should have one. :angry-tappingfoot:

That’s like saying don’t have a police station or fire station either…it’s part of the legal system.

it might be but has the town got worse by it being closed where the other two mentioned are far more necessary and thats before hospitals and medical services get a mention. know it should not be a question of one or another but seems like that nowadays.

I have no intention of being up before magistrates in my diary, but you never know, but the magistrates used to contain a County Court section …it’s there for people mostly with money problems and travelling through to the Boro.
It’s not a case of choosing to pick what we had, I want back what all of what we had.
