Interview view with Snarll on Tees this evening.

A few take aways from this ⬇️

Dixon could start v Yeovil.

Sarll won’t compromise on top GK target. Says the slower business of late is down to him.

Explains Adam Smith won’t be signing but Sass-Davies is possible.

Reiterates want for a CF, winger, CB & GK.

That problem midfield we've had for years has been cured with 3 high quality signings. Plus more high quality in Supersub Fevs.
Do sent seem to concerned about the keeper situation.

Must be on a massive promotion budget if he can keep the payroll down!

Everyones a winner if it comes off.
Lets hope so.

Would seem he's got irons in the fire and he's willing to wait for the right players. Would imagine we're getting to the point now where players will need to make their minds up now or risk being without a wage in 3 weeks time.

For the stattoes.
We used 43 players last season.

Quality over Quantity can work out cheaper.

Does the goalkeeper situation not point to it being Leban? He said the big teams like to have 4 goalkeepers at a time and, with Pickford being away after the Euros, Everton will be down one. This means having a youth team player (Leban) step up to cover until he’s back.

think he has more or less said that in a previous interview. the offer has ben made so the balls in their court. only problem in that is they might only sign for us as a last resort and would have been happier somewhere else. a player with a strong personality and the wrong outlook could kill team spirit a bit

Say a player wants to stay in the EFL, doesn't get the right offer (length of contract, whatever) and decides that Hartlepool is his best option, does that make it a last resort? Not if he's persuaded that Pools are going to be serious promtion contenders and he could be back in the EFL with us the season after next.

The other thing is if he knows anything about Sarll and his training methods he'll know Pools isn't a rest home for the half-fit, as the likes of Dolan and Cooke maybe thought in the past.

I really hope DS does turn the tide in the way some players have viewed Pools in the Past. We need to be back to only signing those who are coming in to do a very good job - the EFL attitude we all still want around the place. If DS was in charge last season it would of been day and night in the way this club would of been ran. Your Dolans and Cooks etc wouldnt of even made the training pitch under him. We need this sort of professionalism back in the club - DC started something... and Spike by the sounds of it undone it all ! this is a big club with even bigger ambitions by us - we should be only looking to bring the best players we can afford in. It shouldnt matter if the player doesnt even know where Hartlepool is - what should matter is if we are not their first choice but we are there for them, they give us just as much as they would anywhere else. Attitude for a Pro at any level should be the same and i think DS looks for that. Character is a big thing in the dressing room in a good team. We need more leaders and people who care ! I think DS is getting it right and will get it right again with the lads we see through the door.

glad hes still wanting a winger and a striker !

anyone also pick up on the start of the interview - little snigger about where the club was and we are in a scintillating place etc...
think Rob and DS both know a takeover is on the cards..... hearing more and more !

Maybe I end up with egg on my face but I really like everything D.S. has to say. He reminds me of a mellow Cloughie and a winner. He is not afraid to upset a player and I really do like that attitude it is definitely needed at Pools. I have already predicted promotion a couple of weeks back, the more he talks the more excited I become about us having a very successful season. Something feels very right at this moment in time despite still needing more players. I definitely believe we will get off to a flyer and push on. In D.S. I trust UTP.

Totally agree . This is the first manager we've had since challinor, who seems to have a definite plan and an ideal to what he wants to do. DS is very refreshing in the way he talks, it's thought out, not the trite crap spouted by Phillips..."I can't fault the boys ..." blah blah.
I definitely think hes what the club needs at the moment. A proper dose of salts.

He is talking a good game but we have thought this before about managers, the proof will be when the season starts. He does appear to talk some sort of sense and finally we seem to have a manager who looks like he wont allow it to be a retirement camp or a jolly boys outing. One or two players last season took the piss and some of the performances were frankly pathetic.

How many of those were players brought in to cover our huge amount of injuries? As we all know some of the replacements picked up injuries as well.

Fair play if he says he wants 4 more...I am not seeing the need for another CB who is effectively the same model as Waterfall and Parkes, given we have Mani O, and Dodds/Hunter who can cover if needed--but wont complain about more players

Back up striker ,keeper and winger an absolute must

A takeover would be great--if Raj sells for a fair price, and into good hands he will go up in a lot of peoples eyes

Does it hurt for people to be optimistic ….?
What’s the point of turning up otherwise…?

i,m always optimistic when i travel up for the game or switch on the live stream on a tuesday night. its what can happen once the game starts when depression hits. nothing better travelling home when my optimism has been realised and more likely to give way to others as the black cloud of defeat has been removed.
