Well it seems there will not be any pots of gold to spend on the players. The new owners have already ploughed in 3.5 million uptill the takeover to cover debts running costs etc. They now need to update the ground to a decent standard
( which will cost millions ) given its been left to rot over the past few years for the impending demolishing that now won't take place. The manager will be given a decent budget due to the almost guaranteed crowds of 7000 plus and probably 9000 now they survived against all odds. But its very unlikely they will splash out on silly signings like Wrexham did. But they have a real n proper good manager who has punched above his weight with a skeleton playing staff and surrounded in horrible stress. He has stood firm in his belief that the club would survive and prosper. Superb manager at this level who has probably turned down offers to leave. Despite everything I really fancy them to win the league even without spending big.

Not so sure Kevin, Its a funny ole game.
They had siege mentality last season, We will see.

Not saying we will do owt, We are going to need a VERY respectable keeper.

The ground is still in the hands of the Martin Family, So don,t have a clue whos responsible for the upkeep.

I have a mate who is a huge Sarfend supporter and he said nobody outside the negotiations team really knows the fine detail just yet, and he is well connected to the club as a spokes person on behalf of the supporters. But he said going by the rumors down there it looks like " Ron the Rat " is leasing the ground to the consortium for 25 years. He believes its a very complexed agreement but in it he believes is a clause to purchase the ground if they want to activate it. If true maybe these people want a return on the investment before committing fully to the purchase sctatchinghead He also said its likely they took this deal as opposed to losing the 3.5 million invested. sctatchinghead Time will tell but at least they are safe and can still use Roots Hall for many years to come.

So realistically, it’s not all cut and dry by a long way.
Bit like Pools getting new owners and Raj still owning the ground ( even though in reality he doesn’t)

they might have won round one but feel there will be a few more rounds to go through before their fans can relax.

Living in the area I am very pleased they have survived, do not know yet if the league have dropped the need of the one million pound bond previously required. Team wise they are in a similar position to Pools a good first eleven but no strength in depth but a good team spirit of them against the world.

if only we had that spirit installed into the players i,d be happy no matter who the players were. no surrender, no surrender from the mighty pools. let the meek inherit the earth but not the vic.
