Last year i bought car insurance on line with a policy where they do not send you any paperwork. Know it runs out sometime this month but forgot when or the name of the company i insured with. Is there anywhere i can get this information from including the police who must have it somewhere on there data base. Do not want a letter through the post being done for no insurance as i have enough to deal with watching for speed cameras.

Try looking back at bank statements to whom it was paid. I did the same thing had no idea who I was insured with.

They'll send a renewal notice via the email address you used when you signed up. They normally send these about a month before the renewal date. Check your spam folder in case its gone straight there.

Did you not keep your emails, NEVER delete your Emails.

If you drive past a Police check point you will find out one way or other albeit you never see them nowadays, they rely on CCTV and speed cameras my daughter inadvertently forgot to change her address and was running about for 3 months with out Road Tax.

thanks for those thats helped. got an email this morning from the company which was hastings. they seem to leave it as late as possible to try to keep your business but they can do one by increasing it 100% but looked on line and found one £200 cheaper.
