All the old pro’s and journo’s are out in force mourning the departure of England’s most gifted, enlightened, brilliant , irreplaceable tactician of our time and back to the Middle Ages.
They really do take the biscuit..A nation mourns.

I heard a BBC commentator on the radio saying that he’s England’s most successful manager ever. I crashed the car on purpose.

He obviously has the attention span and memory of a turnip……some people think that anything or any person before their lifetime doesn’t count….

Funnily enough I watched the beginning of the Mike Bassett football film last night. It does make me laugh and some of it does sail close to the truth.

I never realised that Mike Bassett when he was a player finished his career at Darlington. :-o

Love when the fans surround him at the entrance to the team coach and bombard him with questions and complaints and he cracks and tell them to F#@k off

Only in England could you be classed as a successful manager, when you haven’t won anything.
I’m just glad he reigned,so we didn’t have more of his wretched football to watch.
Should have won the last two Euros, but blew it because of him.

The England squad under Southgate always looked like a closed clique of presentables who’d smile a lot but never under pressure from the the main man.
More therapy than raw ambition.

As a side issue we mess Beckham and his free kicks. We don't seem to have a free kick specialist anymore, in fact does anyone? I can't remember one free kick goal these Euros, and I watched most matches.

might be one of them who would have liked him gone after the first game in the last tournament. like a lot of things in football including players they are looked on as being better once they have gone that when in the job.

therefore all the countries are in the same boat and its not set piece games like we,ll be watching next season where the ones best at them will do the best.

Poor sod, £5.8 mill per annum for going around hugging players.

That's the point I was making, all countries are in the same boat and I wonder why? I quite enjoy seeing a humdinger of a free kick, it's just another way to score and counts the same as any other goal.

The goals I don't like are the super soft penalties given by VAR.

is it a different ball they were using i wonder. remember in one competition there were free kicks going in from all angles by a number of different teams. one good thing about this comptition was ronaldo not scoring from one.

I suppose Southgate will be crying all the way to the bank after 8 years of a few million a year, a pay off and a pension, he won’t be applying for benefits next week.

plus able to pick up some kind of well paid job as quickly as possible. him and saint gary together would be the dream team for insomniacs.

If all else fails Southgate could always return to the Boro after Michael Carrick moves to a big club.

Southgate like all footballers, ish is only as good as his last game. Say no more.
Think his last game was tactical incompetence ,.
