If we had a forward thinking manager we could easily of beaten a very average spanish side. Fancy scoring and then minutes later being on the back foot as if it was us that had conceded, his negative tactics were found out eventually. Must be the luckiest manager ever to get to the finals we have with the teams we have faced.

Just listened to Safegate on Radio using players fatigue as an excuse, is that not why the squad is so big, mmm maybe try playing "inform" players instead in correct position instead of players on reputation, and in wrong position! just saying like

Biggest laugh is peoples opinions on southgate where now he has become a better manager after a close final defeat than he was after the first game. fickle or what especially its the same ones who are doing this. football and reality make bad bed fellows.

Totally agree about his loyalty to certain players, Kane was abysmal throughout, Trippier too should've taken a fit LB, Foden was anonymous throughout the tournament bar the 2st half against Holland, Walker made some great recovery tackles but he was caught out of position and poor defensively imo going forward he was terrible with his crosses.
Players who should definitely have featured more imo were Toney, Gordon, Trent as full back not midfield ffs, Watkins, Palmer, Bowen, what's the point of a huge squad if you only use the same 16 or 17 players over 7 games.
Not unlucky just not good enough from the ma ager, must be so easy for opposing managers to set up to play us we never change.
Still that's that and the proper football ko gets closer.

He seems to have been selecting the same basic players for years, all teams should be constantly upgraded, it’s not as if he’s a club manger, he has the pick of the crop to choose from but still picks his loyal chums.

What really pissed me off was that throw in on about 80 mins near their corner flag.
Should of been launched into the box.
10 seconds later Pickford has the ball.
Absolute braindead moment.
banghead banghead

British footballing coaching is way behind sports like rugby, cycling, swimming, and even athletics and gymnastics where the coaches are all looking to gain continual improvement in their teams by choosing the best at their event / position and by fine marginal improvements both in performance and technology.
Get your fa coaching badges by following a fixed programme of assessment and you've cracked it. Southgate is the fa chosen one and the jobs his to keep or relinquish - don't forget they broke their own rules to allow an unqualified coach to take charge of PL Boro.

14 of the Premier League clubs have foreign managers, shows what the owners feel about British managers.

To many foreign managers killed the 4 4 2 system which has killed the entertainment value.
And now the English managers copy this boring shit without triumph.
It even filters down to non league level.
Football used to be entertainment.
Now it's become a boring business with shit standard players.

World darts on tonite.

Football now has become the football version of painting by numbers’, rigid patterns producing boring football that delights the purists and infuriates those watching who like to be entertained.

one of the best goals i have ever seen was when the keeper booted it long down the pitch a centre forward headed it onto the winger who ran down the pitch, crossed it and somebody headed it in. so simple but would be classed as hoofball now because no false number 9 , a number 10 or a wing back were not involved.
