According to reports, Dyson are cutting jobs.
They have 15,000 employees and only 3,500 are in the UK…..and as they’re office based it’s obvious the jobs producing their product are overseas.
So what happened to the original workforce…?…… because no matter how good you are at your job or how hard you work, how loyal you are, you’ll be out on your arse if they can ship your job overseas.
Economics they say, I’ll never buy you product is what I say.

True, but when I get it flagged up in front of my face, I avoid it.

That's very true. Dyson was one of the great backers of Brexit but he hasn't put his money into the UK

Just reminded me, the wife bought one of their fancy vacuums, them hand held things that couldn’t suck up a moths wing. It had the capacity of a tea cup, kept blocking and was possibly the first asthmatic vacuum cleaner despite the bullshit.
Me and Monkeybutt had weird discussions on their merits and he said he could get it to work….in the end I said I’m binning it and said if he wants it he can pop round and adopt it.
He came round and promised he’d make it work, I said keep it, we’ve bought a proper one now so drove off into the sunset with his next project.
Bless him he died shortly afterwards…..much to my surprise…… but when the time comes, if I pop into him in Heaven, I’ll ask him how he got on with it….after the jokes.

My wife ditched the Dyson as well and we bought a Shark vacuum cleaner.
No complaints so far.
Aye Monkeybutt was a one off, bless him.

We've got a Henry vacuum cleaner. Assembled in Yeovil and hopefully many of the components made in the UK too. £120 and works a treat.
Congratulations to Dyson, over £20 billion in the bank - a reflection of how many people have bought his stuff.
He's now cutting UK jobs to reflect the fact that most of his companies inventions get ripped off by you-know-who, as they always do.
I'm one of the few remaining UK employees for my company - most days I am on calls with India, Poland and the US. They'll probably get me soon too.

The Mrs works for Sainsburys and one of their most stolen items are the fancy Shark vacuums at £300+ each. As someone pointed out, based on the theft rate, it would be cheaper to have a member of staff posted on guard for just those items.

I can't wait to get talking about the new fixtures!

funny thing about dyson vac is you can pick the model of your choice second hand at any car boot sale in the country. not so for other makes so it makes me wonder why. ditched ours as it made more noise than sucking especially dog hairs.

I got four Henry’s out of a skip and made two out of the components, I keep them in my bunker and use them when there’s a heavy job.
Absolute belters they are.
