The sell on clause was initially for 15-20% but the two big clubs involved screwed the small club down on the amount. As a result, a maximum of 8m became 4m.

It reminds me of when we had a % clause for selling Don Hutchison to Liverpool in 1991. They sold him onto West Ham for 1.5m in 1994
However, with finance issues in 1993, Pools had already agreed to abandon the clause and accept 30k.

Wolves were going to call the deal off due to price. West Ham were not prepared to drop the price. Maidenhead have ended up with 10% rather than nothing.
