For those of you who have not seen them yet! On the A19 southbound a few hundred metres from the Billingham/ Stockton turn off 2 appollo looking robot things on legs ( 5 metres apart ) about 4ft tall coloured yellow & black and standing on the left side of the road. I don't know if these are speed cameras or what but they are not put there for a laugh that's for sure. I have not used A19 for a few weeks so maybe these are only there for the day sctatchinghead

Strange and sneaky whatever they are Blue. There was a time when DVLA would let you know about new equipment etc but these days they like to trick and surprise people into giving them more n more free cash. banghead

I've seen these before, like a three legged robot thing, was on a walk around Port Clarence last year with Mr.Horden and they had 4 surrounding some council equipment, they sound a warning alarm when someone encroaches the area, so guessing they're protecting something they don't want nicking.Theyre also fitted with cameras which are activated also.

Fucking hell Paulus- You were WALKING around Port Clarence - why? Not a chance I would stop the car, let alone leave it unattended, what with all the gruffies that live round there. Assume you wearing a stab vest!

Rink End was just hot air.
Despite the song, no one ever took the Rink End because no one tried, it was just chest beating from sub 2,000 crowds…there weren’t that many full time ‘Rinkenders’ anyway, as we moved in or out only at half time….most were 50% Rinkenders.
As for Port Clarence even the rag mans horse and cart was left outside the club to be find the horse up on bricks and its shoes stole for scrap.
Drive through, never stop.

We were exploring walks in the area, specifically along the side of the Tees from the Transporter Bridge towards the coast, unfortunately it tapered off after about a quarter of a mile and became scrub land which then skirted various fenced businesses and a railway line which headed towards what looks like a large wind turbine storage plant and several chemical works, we then headed north and walked back towards Saltholme and the area east of Seal sands.

Probably cctv monitoring the traffic flow as that part of the A19 can be very congested at peak times, has the extra lane eased it any ?
