Big bloke no doubt looking for a big wage by NL standards. Would be showing real ambition if we're in for him.

I think most will have already decided if they're getting a ST already, more importantly imo is having almost the full squad signed up before pre season starts next week.
Definitely fine margins can make a huge difference between success and failure in this league unless you've got unlimited financial resources and no similar competition in that area.

Campbell looked garbage the little time he had here, but looked a totally different player for Gateshead, would certsinly go well with mani. But soon as its said quite a few clubs interested in him i give up hope.

Hopefully we offload Dixon and bring in someone of Holys calibre or some really good Prem loanee like Stol.

I dont think we need Campbell tbh - its players who can get the ball in the box for Mani and Grey. Wingers with pace and who can cause problems for defenders - would like to see another CB come in aswell. Mani O will be gone come pre season i think too.

We have always been quite lucky at pools that we have had pretty good keepers, last few years we seem to have struggled to find one

said this the other day... one thing Pools have always managed to get is a good lad between the sticks.
been a long time since ive been 100% confident in our GK selection thats for sure !

we also have a half decent GK coach too now

a coach can only work with what they have to work with. none are miracle workers. even if we do sign a decent keeper i doubt they,d be as good as those in the past were, they just do not exist anymore at any level as they all seem to have a big error in them nowadays. you,ll see a save of the season followed by schoolboy errors next in the same game.

yeh i fully agree - the only real true old school keeper ive seen in a long time is the lad from Italy Donnarumma

Nowadays they all think that a top priority is being good at the outfield stuff rather than being the best at protecting their goal. Down to the modern managers wanting to keep possession and build from the back.
I still think a full time GK coach is a waste of money for a NL club. I'm sure we could do a deal with our bigger neighbours to send our keepers to them a couple of sessions a week.

Can,t imagine what Oldcastle would charge for that.

Years ago a good manager used to coach all positions.
Not much evidence to suggest different parts of the pitch coaches win games.
Then ya get this sports science boffins n cranks on the sidelines with I pads.
Absolute bollocks.
A whiteboard n a felt tip pen in the dressing room should be quite sufficient to get the message across.

GK is possibly the only position where you can manufacture a player. Took it up myself as i wasn,t much cop at other positions on the field but had the size, physique and ability to catch a football as a starting point and could kick the ball a good distance. if you have the basics and prepared to listen you can make something of yourself in that position. the surprise is the dearth of good keepers at all levels now.

Noticed Agyemang has gone on season long loan to Airdrie.

Missed out on Ellis Taylor and Terrell Agyemang on the same day... How lucky is that?

What they do now is the same as Southgate, Look at an IPad while the game is in progress.
If a TRUE manager needs to do that then they need to find another job.
