Charman had a great second half to his season and it showed by helping Fylde avoid relegation. He played very well against us and caused havoc for other defences in games after that. His name was on many a scout report. He will be a good player for us. Should he stay fit and be played in the correct position. I think we will come to like the lad, but there is always that chance he could be another Hastie. Very much doubt it though.

Hunter has been praised by every manager so ill see for myself with regards to him - he will be an improvement on what we have had thats for sure. Plus again, he was in a side that reached the playoffs so cant see him being that bad tbh.

I've not accused anyone of cherry picking?
The facts I gave about Barnet are straight from their official retained list.

if we get the charman who was at darlo then we,ll have a good un. someone we should have been after when he was there and we could have saved him from the delights of rochdale. we must have seen hunter in the past but cannot remember him as he counld be a steady 7 out of 10 type every game by doing an unspectacular but important a job for the team that rarely gets a man of the match nomination.

Yet they're both were offered new contracts by their previous clubs, both have played at a higher level than almost every one of Barnets new signings?

again if we sign somebody some fans are always underwhelmed but everyone elses are thought of as world beaters. if we signed messi and harry kane someone would find a negative to them.

Apologies had you mixed up with Johnjo.

But that's not right either? Barnet have signed 9 players, 5 of which have played at the same or a higher level than our 2 signings. They also still have most of their starting line up from last season at the club whereas we need players to come in and start.

So what your basically saying is a team that didnt need much tweaking has gone out and signed 9 players 5 at an ok level. Yet the team that needs the most doing to it has signed 2 and one of them spent most of last season fighting relegation. Have we got the clubs mixed up? Surely the team that was struggling would do the rebuilding., maybe not. Maybe we just think players are going to majically improve or lads that have missed a full season or months are going to hit the ground running.

Or maybe the season doesn't start until August 10th and we're still bringing players in before the summer break finishes?

The season might not start until 10th August, but pre-season training starts beginning of July. No good signing players on 9th August & expecting them to play the following day!!

The only person coming out with the words "No good signing players on 9th August & expecting them to play the following day" is you as far as I'm aware.
I agree it's no good but if you and me keep quiet about it it just might not turn out that way.

There are a few saying that we have plenty of time still to sign players as the season doesn't start yet. My point was that we need players signed before pre-season training starts, which is usually early July, so they don't miss out on the important first few weeks of fitness training.

Realistically I would bet more players are signed up by most clubs in the next few weeks when the players contracts expire. The players will have been looking around for the best terms.

So why not wait and see who turns up for pre season and then make a judgement. We'll know for definite then what the squad looks like and can therefore be better able to form an opinion.
