Southend United could go out of business later this month after prospective buyers expressed "urgent" concerns about their protracted takeover attempts.

A winding-up petition, which was adjourned for the final time in May, is set to he heard in the High Court on 26 June.

The ‘loaded person’ is cutting it fine then.

They normally do down south. I remember leyton orient being in a mess and beating us 5 nil. Now look at them. They will be saved and will end up spending shed loads of money on going up.

A much bigger potential to find an investor than up here, geography favours anyone in the South East, especially so within the M25.

feel sorry for their fans but thats about it. about time some south east club gets a taste of what so many northern clubs have suffered over the years. darlo, chester, halifax, bury, macclesfield plus even stockport were in admin. then there are plenty of others apart from pools who have had big problems. the list is endless. apart from having bad owners they must have brought a lot of this on themselves by paying players far more than they are worth. in the mid 80,s a journeyman left back was getting 3 times more in wages than a striker at a northern club inthe old division 4. both ex crewe players.
