Truro City - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... 33k7zle8lo

Didn't see that coming! Hoping to watch a few games at the new stadium this season. It'll be interesting to see how he goes...

Good luck to him. That is a very remote location but the fish and chips will be fresh.

He was unlucky with injuries but sounded like a man waiting for the push months before it actually happened. His post-match interviews were dismal affairs. Rallying the troops is definitely not one of his strong points! Still, he did well enough at some of his other clubs so just have to wait and see how it goes at Truro.

Just looked up a return ticket staying overnight at a mere £277 with a 9/10 hour journey each way.
Anyone interested?

Sure he got past his probation period at Pools.
So will still be laffing his bollocks off for taking us out the Efl and getting rewarded with a 3 year contract.

Only at Pools under this regime hey!!.

Truro City FC's new ground apparently almost finished is a good 3 miles outside of the city in fact Threemilestone - self explanatory. Crowds lucky to be 4-500. Good luck with that John. Hope you do well but brush up on your after game performance and use your subs better!

Usually the contract is paid until you get another job, then it stops. So assuming Pools were still paying JA, it should now stop as he has another job.

The new ground is looking really smart. Given Argyle have a season ticket waiting list of 4,000 they might get a few more through the gate this year. It is only a city of 30,000 people though.

4 to 500 fans isn,t that bad in a city of 30,000 at the level they are at and its a bit of a rugby union stronghold at that. he is also out of the sound of the bunker and the scrutiny of any mistake he was deemed to have made. might have looked uncomfortable being interviewed but in few months we,ll have a PM the same.

Quite a big article (two pages) plus front page coverage of J A in the latest edition of The Non League newspaper. Most of it is his enthusiasm for a new challenge with TCFC which is fine by me. I of course looked to see how much Pools were mentioned considering it was his last job and we all know what happened. Very scant mention of Pools. A quote: "I'm trying to get as far away from Hartlepool as possible" he quipped in reference to his last job which ended in the death throes of last year. That's it as far as Pools is concerned except he also says: "I did well at York, but suffered a run of sheer bad luck at Hartlepool. We had four or five of our best players missing with long-term injuries and there was nothing we could do. I'm looking forward to Truro - and hopefully we'll get a bit of luck along the way." He says this about his time at York City: "They were 17th in the league when I went in and we got promoted. The new ground helped and they started to get bigger crowds." And: "At York we were one of the wealthiest clubs in Conference North and that was one of the reasons why we got promoted." Bunkerites will remember something happened at York to spoil the relationship. I was hoping he would spill the beans more about his time at Pools. Alas, it will be interesting for a Cornish adopted Poolie living 10 miles away from JA's new place of employment to see how he gets on.

Can only judge him for what he did at Pools.
Didn't have a clue hiding behind injuries.
Must of carried some luck at Maccy.
But good luck to him.

Hope he succeeds, but his time here started well but fizzled out, be it his fault or the players fault, it didn’t work out in the end and was hardly the ‘great communicator, a bit dour, a bit aloof even and apparently quickly disillusioned and no motivator.
Just another train through the station of life in the managerial role and now left the place never to return.

correct, but somehow its hard to imagine the bloke showing any enthusiasm for anything. looks and sounds a dour guy but could see far more of myself in him than phillips though.
