I will never forget that individual goal he scored at Grimsby. Nothing on Pools website ie we wish him the best etc. Maybe tomorrow? He's already pictured with a Daggers shirt on with the obligatory its a no brainer etc.

I'll miss the Josh he was at the start of his time as a Poolie (energetic goal machine). I won't miss what he became under John Askey which was basically a back to goal wrestler who couldn't score in a knocking shop with 1000 quid cellotaped to his knob.

(He's still better than Duffus though).

Trust me, he will do very well this season. 15+ goals with ease.

Not sure there's any great mystery about Umerah. He was never that prolific a goalscorer anyway, 3 of his goals in the relegation season were penalties. He always seemed like a real confidence player to me - he had his best spell when Keith Curle was manager. The goals dried up when John Askey came in - maybe they just didn't hit it off? It would have been interesting to see if Kevin Phillips could get a tune out of him, but he had a long term injury and surgery so never got to play for him.

Askey’s time here was like Umerah’s …started off well and went into spiral decline and indifference.

he,d better score them early in the season before he starts to lose interest. he has the ability like some of us have in their work but lose interest once the newness wears off.

Agreed, and he will score against Pools either home or away - or both - it’s nailed on.

He has the ability… but not the staying power.
Apart from Pools, he moved to a different team every season …he came here on a free from Wealdstone on a free where he scored 16 goals but in the years prior to that his goal tally was nothing special at all.
He has a gift if he puts his mind to it….but……. sctatchinghead

If he stays fit and pulls his finger out--am sure at least 1 of them will be against us

I am fine with him leaving gievn doesnt play well with Mani D and we already have Grey improving--can get a better fit of player with the money

Too many ifs…keeping him here would have been pointltless.
He may do well for D&R, but it’s probably how long he has the enthusiasm, though on the plus side for them, he is back in his own neck of the woods.

Reminds me a bit of Omar Bogle- good to start with and steadily got worse as time went on. A typical journeyman who won't play above league 2 standard- just like Bogle.

bogle was a good player though until injuries took their toll on him. came to us years too late.

Bogle was one or two levels above Umerah despite halfwit Hartley shipping him out

I’m sure we paid a fee for Umerah.

He’s down on the Soccerbase stats as a free transfer.
