It also came out pre-match that apart from players team management and coaches the club only has FIVE full time employees.!!!!

Remarkable achievement.
Sounds like organised Ambition.
Well done.
Maybe inspiration to a few other clubs who lack self belief.
Never surrender and always give 100%.
UTP.

Solution= the right manager + financial backing= success.

question needs to be asked though is how much did it cost to sign the team they have, what wages are they on and what financial backing have they got from owners that looked dodgy when they first came in. do not know their attendances but doubt they,d have been higher than ours would have been in similar circumstances. one thing it leaves only us and accrington who have played in the league for long spells who have never played at wembley. feel the only way we will is to hire the place for a pre season friendly.

They will have built another Wembley by the time we get there on merit again !

See Barnet are going hell for leather early on with the transfer business - think thats 5 through the door already.

The biggest setback for Pools was Hartley signings all on 2 year pls contracts, every manager was stuck with them and they ate up the budget. It’s now a level playing field but the budget Harley had won’t be there as Pools havnt had any Cup money and will be dependent on Season Tickets sales or if Singh puts his hand in his pocket.
Crawley manager Scott Lindsey only ever played in the lower leagues averaging a season at every club 17 off, very little managerial /coaching experience so did Crawley strike lucky with his appointment, according to their website Crawley have 27 players on their books none of the names I recognise.

It’s a pity you can’t road test managers and players, or get a sixty day trial or return contract.

Didn’t IOR only give managers a 6 month rolling contract ?

do clubs not trial pros anymore ? or even the seasoned ones to make sure they still have it ? seems in Pools' case we dont even give them a medical half the time

Think they averaged over 5,000 last season.

Absolutely. Otis Khan FFS? Wallace in and out of the side because of injuries. Lacey crocked most of his time at Pools. It does make you wonder.

Apparently nine of the Crawley players at Wembley were playing for them in the National League so it has not been a case of rich owners buying a new team to get promotion. As mentioned earlier, if Crawley can do it anyone can. (with the right manager?)

Someone earlier stated that there were only three players in the Wembley team that played at Pools last season?

Crawley were last in the National League in 2010/11 when they were promoted as champions. They have been in the league ever since, so I think it's unlikely that 9 of that team from then are still playing for them now 13 years later!!

Sorry, nine of the Crawley Wembley team were playing non league football a year ago, not playing for them. Great bit of recruitment that!
