Fair result. Better boxer won.
Cant believe Fury thought the judges called it wrong.
Obviously doesn't put the training in anymore.
Rematch in October for more easy money.

A nice pay day that’s for sure, boxing is more theatre than boxing nowadays.

No where near the standard of Muhammad Ali, Teddy Gardener, Jack London or the Feeney brothers.

it is at heavyweight level that seems where the interest and money seems to be. used to love watching boxing once even ameteur fights but cannot be arsed anymore and have no interest in it.

Never had much interest in boxing. Wouldn't open the curtains if the bout was in me back garden.
Me dad was a big fan and used to go to the Engineers regularly to watch it live but, for some reason, I was never attracted to it. An old pro once told me that there were more fiddles in boxing than there were in the World of music. How true that is I have no idea.

not something i,d have fancied doing as i have too short a fuse even now. however i think there is more interest in the town now and in the past for the sport than a lot of other place. there are still boxing clubs where most places the size of hartlepool all you get is martial arts.

At grass roots level I think it has a place and did a bit myself. It keeps kids fit and off the streets but at pro level not interested.

the problem with boxing at all levels is you need to be more dedicated and put the hours in training unlike football where you can get away with being reasonably fit and just play a game when you feel like it. good chance if you turned up with your boots and shin pads somebody would give you a game on places on a sunday morning a few matches were taking place like my lad always did and got one when he visited me and i was reffing at one of those spots.

Thought it was a good scrap myself and the better boxer won. Fury was in decent shape for this one. They get ridiculous money but being beaten up for 36 minutes isn’t my idea of easy… two men who can really take a punch.

A mate of mine has his own boxing gym and even he says the sport is corrupt. Quite often his own fighters are diddled out of wins due to dodgy decisions.

Every big fight big daddy had he ended up covered in giant haystacks sweat...it's no wonder he wanted to finish the fight early.

I wanted Fury to win..Usyk deserved it on points..I like both boxers tbf..One's held the title for a good few years and is a character ,the other is a powerful southpaw hard to handle boxer..How does the giant tweak his style to deal with the shorter boxer if the rematch becomes a reality?.....Boxing on the whole has become a bit stale over the years if you can relate to the 70/80's bouts for me..Next on the line is 57 year old Mike Tyson v Jake Paul.. go on iron mike send him into orbit and do us all a favour.. .

If you like watching a good scrap watch the likes of the UK's Jonathan Haggarty or Liam Harrison and their efforts in the muay thai world ,different rules i know but top notch..

refuse to call it a fight but how many times did those two appear together on a wrestling bill in a week never mind a year. big daddy,s real name was shirley crabtree and he owned a night club in halifax along with his brother max. being called shirley he would have needed to be tough at school i,d guess.

My gym teacher at school in the 1970s was a semi-pro wrestler whose ring name was Ray Diamond. Great bloke. Of course it's entertainment, not sport, but Ray was an athlete all the same. At his level it was, fight at your home ring, you win, fight somewhere else you lose. The outcome is pre-arranged, it's all about putting on a good show.
