Turns out they weren’t the ‘Walton’s’ of football after all.
The revised retained list will now probably just consist of the goalpost nets.

If they've 'gone' they're keeping it to themselves for now. Don't think any bombshell would affect the season just finished as they fulfilled all their fixtures.

Going forward though, there's definitely big decisions to be be made. As I said before, can't see them carrying on with a full-time squad if they stay at the athletics stadium.

Well they’re not playing in the National league next season and reported as having been ‘kicked out’, so the future is bleak.

they are not gone but might be as far as the national league is by the end of next season. they,d have to be really luckily in their recruitment to get decent players coming who have interest in playing for a side who cannot be promoted and just fullfilling fixtures.

the NL is strict that if clubs are to be promoted to it that they meet the criteria such as number of seats etc. So why when clubs are in do they not check that they meet all criteria should they win promotion to the EFL.
One of the stupidest rules being they allow clubs to play on3G pitches obviously an advantage to the home club yet not allowed in the EFL for which it is a feeder league.

It appears its the EFL who are strict on the rules and stand very firmly behind them. It's looks like the NL are a pack of jokers, they allow those plastic pitches ( which you point out are a definite advantage) then support Gatesheads application despite it falling short of the required rules. Looks like these two leagues need one governing body not one and a circus act. rakxe The difference in professionalism between the two is staggering banghead

Why allow them into the National League in the first place if they don’t meet the criteria to go into league 2 as this is taking up space for a club who could go further and in this case denying a club who could have been allowed into League 2.

It's quiet clear the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. banghead It appears the NL only care about the NL full stop. rakxe

It baffles me though ..it’s like giving a driving licence to a blind/deaf person, they ain’t going anywhere, so why give them a place/ licence in the first place…?

agree. think i posted that somewhere else. the crazy one though is you have to meet the requirements gateshead fell foul on to get into the league but once you are in it doe not matter as coventry are in the same boat. at least gateshad have not fell out with their ground owners and played at other grounds like they did.

if you think back both Luton and Bournemouth on winning promotion from EFL to the Premier League were told they would have to make certain changes at their groonds before the season but neither were refused promotion . I quite agree why have teams in the NL if they do not have the necessary Ground/pitch or what ever to comply with the league above stipulations. Main one in my mind is the 3G pitches.

Bournemouth just revealed the plans for the new ground…I like their present ground, handy for Boscombe High Street.

Speaking of Gateshead - was talking to their Physio i think, or lad who works with him. Few beers in during this point. But anyways...

Few of their lads are indeed looking elsewhere and he expects a mass exodus this season.

Grey Olly been talking to L2 club he said. Kenton wants off (id have him back at Pools). Tinkler has offers from local.
Hannant again L2 interest along with Booty and Francis <<< all of which id have at Pools.

We can only ask. The publicity over the ground situation has probably alerted more than usual.

agree on that 3g thing. totally unfair when you can gain promotion with the help of one but cannot use it the following season. gateshead ground situation didn,t give them a play off edge but just didn,t tick the right play off requirements box. wonder as well if a promote 3g side get some financial help also to re lay their pitch.

That's exactly the performance Pools need to replicate next season

BOTH finished in the Playoffs and a day out at Wembley in the FAT.

That would represent a successful season for me- regardless of winning either-

The only thing that matters next season is getting out of this prison of a division - preferably by going up, not down

No point in getting excited about a run in the non-league cup till we're in the quarter-finals at least. Pools have nearly always been crap in cup competitions in the 50-odd years I've been supporting them.

Calm your skin down Sussex-

darLO are our ONLY rivals and I would not have wanted you to win!

I still remember where I was when Ronnie Mauge scored for Plymouth in the 45th minute of your Friday night Play off final of 2002. Living in London at that time I did chuckle seeing a few distraught loids on their way back to Kings Cross! rolf

Though it is poor bollocksing it up a second week running- type of thing we'd do!
Reckon that could wreck there season next year- staggering how many times virtually the same squad go to shit the year after (Martin Scrote- springs to mind)

I wouldn't say it was a shame - as you can't miss what you haven't had.

Though we are due a day out, down there, hopefully soon

But we did really…just we were sabotaged by FA Politics when she were supposed to be there.

i,d guess losing there might feel worse than never being there in the first place. for me wembley is just a large football ground now with a name and nothing like the wembley of the past. just a bigger version of the millenium stadium but harder to get there where you need to plan weeks before and not just drive down blind like i did to cardiff.

I don't think it is unreasonable Kev but cherry picking their best players could backfire. Those players were very good in a very good team. Take them out of that scenario and they may not be as effective but the idea is a good one.
It depends if the new guy sees any of them as desirable parts of his mindset jigsaw.
More importantly will they want to come.

thats the gamble all managers have to do just to sign anybody. just hope they,ll fit into their jigsaw and not having 10 outfield players more or less doing there own thing and hoping for the best.
