2-2 extra time! Best team Solihull. Crowd of 23,500 two very very well supported clubs. Who ever wins will have a great chance again in league two with huge followings like that. Osborne by far and away the best player on view.

Seeing as Bromley’s average gate is 1470 and Solihull’s is 1617….there’s a lot of opportunists turned up.

If you haven’t seen it already I recommend the Bromley Boys on Netflix. They deserve their moment of glory.

My thoughts entirely loyal

Plus Andy Woodman seems like a decent bloke- would have had him in charge at Pools in a heartbeat

Got to admit I'm jealous of both Bromley and Solihull- getting to play at Wembley - something that continues to evade Pools. Millennium and Tit City Stadiums just don't cut it! banghead

Even the Heed are back there AGAIN next weekend in the FAT final

My biggest disappointment of the season, losing on spot kicks to a pub team in the FAT.
I said before a ball was kicked - I'd take a mid table finish and a day out at Wembley. I'm still Pissed off that once again we didn't make it beyond the second round FFS refred banghead

Bromley FC average attendance this season is 3501. (6th in Natioal league, just behind Pools who are 5th)
Solihull moors average attendance is 1445.
Just saying like.

My info was taken from footballwebpages.co.uk/ attendances
It probably differs from other sites.

Bunker common knowledge that every team who finishes above Pools has trillionaire backers.
But we still have the best fans.

Worked well for Chelsea though!
York?
Leeds almost went out of business due to overspending in the Ridsdale era.

Some clubs over achieve without spending fortunes. No silver bullet really Man City spent big but took a while to get the right manager to be consistently dominant.

Easy to spend other people's money isn't it?

You could always start a "boost the budget" fundraiser if you want better rather than just constantly criticising or demanding more? Think the last one brought in enough for a couple of players?

Some clubs that spend bucket loads have to fail, not everyone can do well, unfortunately money rules basically who finishes were nowadays, look at the championship basically the same clubs yo yoing all the time because of the money.

Thing with pools is we dont need to spend millions, we need to spend something to outdo the Gatesheads of the conference.

No point having a great team if the owners aren’t .

So logical question then is do you honestly think Gateshead outspent us?
None of us know, but my guess is that they spent significantly less but got significantly better for their buck.

No Gateshead almost certainly had a smaller budget. They had a good manager who was replaced by another good manager. It was these two who had the ability to spot good players and good loan players and gel them into a good all round team.

Well to be fair Accy- it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity that nobody however remotely connected to the town, would want to miss!

Problem is, years after, Accy- say we took 35k in the event we did ever break the hoodoo- You'd have 100k claiming to have been there! (Bit like the Man U home game in the 50's)

Got to admit one of my favourite memories of the Cardiff Final was the sight of the fleet of buses leaving the town in the early hours of that day- proper goosebumps moment- even now!

Thought I'd have a look at the Heed's current squad to find out. Surprise, surprise, there is zero evidence that they have any money!
They have signed players from Birtley, Hebburn, West Auckland, Spennymoor, Welling United, Maidstone and South Shields.
Moving up the leagues, they have a few ex-Pools lads, others who've spent time with York, Solihull, Barrow, Colchester and Notts County.
Mark Tinkler is in his third spell with them. Greg Olley, their longest serving player, started as a trialist. They paid a small fee to Altrincham for Marcus Dinanga.
Dejaune Brown, the 18-year-old who tore our defence a new one a month or so back, is on loan from Derby County's Academy.

Similar stories for most of the squads that finished above us. It's as much about the right people than the biggest budget.
The question is will Sarll be the right man to bring in the right players and take us forward?
