You’ve complained about politics over here continuously yet spend your time in a place where political discussion is best avoided…and if I had to encounter the legal system I’d choose here everytime.
How ironic.

Snowy your behind the times, where do you get your info from, the Beano, do a bit of research before commentating about a country you know nothing about or even visited. Legal system, why would I be involved with the legal system Snowy, it’s only for people who fall foul of the law.

It also has a great medical service, I had my cataracts done here last year, their medical system is like the NHS used to be. I can turn up at a clinic or hospital and be seen without an appointment, their hospitals are modern clean and efficient some like modern day hotels.

When I have time I will forward links for the English language newspapers here, the Bangkok Post is decent but unfortunately I am busy packing my bag for me next adventure, now where did I put my nice new blue passport ?

Glad to see you’ve dumped your old boring red passport, you closet Brexiteer

Love winding you up Snowy, I would say my post was more of something like The Travel Show or Trip Advisor, you are not only seeing in red but writing in red now, calm down old boy, thanks for giving me my honourably knighthood. I have attached a link for the Bangkok Post to keep you up to date with happenings in Thailand. I didn’t dump my passport through choice, I had to as it was full up with visa stamps and entry and exit stamps.

I was driving down the A1M from Gateshead on Boxing Day 2022, bright day, 3pm ish and was a bit pissed off as basically the road was full of arseholes ….. so left the motorway to cut down through the villages and my tyre blew out and wrote the car off, doing 25, but hit a steel post….not a scratch….but if I’d stayed on the motorway…. it would have been a lot worse.

Probably but no one knows what would have happened sctatchinghead A work mate of mine way back in the 80s decided to leave his car at home due to icy roads, he had only just past his test. He got on the double decker bus and went up stairs to the front seats. The bus hit a metal bridge and he spent 2 months in hospital with various injuries but thankfully made a full recovery.

Now here’s one that might upset someone….remembrance benches down the sea front.
Once they had a #mall brass plaque on, which I like to read with a message beneath that’s quite touching.
Nowadays some have been turned into shrines, flower pots, fairy lights, some with plaques on about an inch thick which actually makes them useless as benches. One bench at Swanage I was sat on, someone said it was so and so’s bench and they regarded it as their bench ……and I thought …..this is getting bloody silly.

Back in the 80’s we were on a visit to Shoeburyness and took in the delights of the artillery range….we ended up driving further up the coast towards Clacton….pushed on and ended up in Frinton upon Sea (average age 98) and it was weird….no pubs, no fish and chips…all banned by the residents and memorial benches along the promenade with no gaps, there was hundreds, it was so boring that the highlight was the traffic lights changing.
So we pushed on to the flesh pots of the Latin Quarter of Walton on the Naze…God we walked on the wild side.

You agree a price for a taxi to the airport from your hotel, when you arrive there the driver tells you it didn’t include the drop off charge. No time to dispute plus the driver has a selective understanding of English. More annoying he pocketed the original fare + the tip before asking for more money !
Service charge and tax in very small print at the bottom of the menu isn’t included on the meal prices.

they put so much on bills that you need to study them to find out if they add a service charge. do not frequent places that charge that, but if i did i,d take loads of cash and just pay what i owe to a penny minus that to avoid a row. another thing that seemed to become the norm after covid to fleece us and get back what they lost in that period. it wasn,t our faults they lost money the government shut them and not us.

I am surprised no-one has build a hut over each bench and claimed them  Then you could rent them out sctatchinghead Sea view with extremely large swimming pool includes a bench and regular delivery of beautiful flowers. Unfortunately you would need a gun to get rid of the seagulls and a mini bus pre paid to get rid of the resident pensioners. bbolt

Heard a corker today, some women talking about another woman of their mutual acquaintance and one said the women in question had done well for herself by marrying someone who was loaded.
The other one said….”Aye, she landed on her back”.. Ouch! :uhoh:

Once they had a #mall brass plaque on, which I like to read with a message beneath that’s quite touching.
Nowadays some have been turned into shrines, flower pots, fairy lights, some with plaques on about an inch thick which actually makes them useless as benches. One bench at Swanage I was sat on, someone said it was so and so’s bench and they regarded it as their bench ……and I thought …..this is getting bloody silly.

Talking about benches I have noticed the ones on the headland have loads of flowers on them.

Some on Ward Jackson Park do, it’s a memorial to the person who donated the the seat, there is a brass plague on the seats.

Is there anywhere else the MSM know about in Hartlepool, just shows how out of touch they are.

Get your eyes tested urgently…in the opening credits the blokes stood with a panorama of the marina full of boats behind him.

If you are stood with a background of boats in a Marina and it’s a travel blog of Hartlepool…… you can bet your money on it not being St Tropez Marina.

Being always quoted as the Jewel in Crown I thought he would have focused on it more not just a background shot.

I think the whole ‘Jewel in the Crown ‘ stuff was the Council over egging the cake, a nice place though…the wife told me yesterday a party from several country’s on a three day Conference at the Historic Quay were staying at the Premier and were quite impressed with the place….
Funny how others see us….we do tend to put ourselves down.

My annual niggle has come up.
The grass outside the art deco bus station at Seaton has been allowed to grow to knee high and the odd wild flower wrestles with the knee length grass and weeds all in the name of token woke nonsense.
Now an art deco building should have a clean cut lawn in front of it and god knows what visitors think of the scruffy unattractive appearance it gives.
The trouble is….last year it was again allowed to grow wild but just before the Tall Ships rolled into town it was transformed into an immaculate bowling green….so obviously it looked a bit embarrassing..,so if it’s good enough for the Tall Ships, try doing it for the people who pay the rates to fund the Council.

Take a photograph and send it to the Council asking why the area isn’t being maintained.

If it were that easy I would, but I can assure you I know exactly how the Council works…or not….in fact all the grass along the prom is a tribute act to the glory of the dandelion.
Even the first roundabout into town outside the lodge must be housing a small pigmy community..another woke eyesore to greet the visitor in the name the woke.
Rant over.

Lack of grass cutting is down to finance nought else, gone are the days when the Council had their own Market Garden and gardeners. The people who cut the grass using the motorised mowers look like they are on a job and finish the way they race round.

Council employee’s, but the regrettable trend is for managers to sub contract things out but they keep their jobs.
A race to the bottom.

Saw a strange site this morning getting a lift back with one of my lads after having the dogs out early doors, he called in Tesco and I sat in the car.
Noticed a woman pulled up and parked at the furthest corner away from the shop near Burn Road and walked over to get a trolley…then pushed it back over to the car and took out one carrier bag and walked all the way back to the shop …and I got annoyed at the stupid cow for not walking over with the carrier bag in the FIRST FUCKING PLACE banghead …but it was fuck all to do with me….stupid sod.
Dangerous place to be bored are supermarket car parks.
