Always liked Tom a total gentleman and a player who put everything he had into every game he played. A genuinely nice person with a real passion for Hartlepool United.Totally down to earth bloke and a proper lad. Hope you get the move you need quickly Tom and hopefully we will see you again soon playing at the Vic. Good luck for the future I have a feeling you will end up back at Chester.

Nice bloke, and should get fixed up with a Nat League club, may do better with more athletic players alongside him---still thikn correct decision to let him go

He was in the fans at a few away games in League 2 when he was injured. Good lad.

It’s only a correct decision if Sarll and co do actually manage to secure better and ‘more athletic’ players over the course of the close season. Crawford’s classy statement clearly shows that he would have happily remained at the Vic. Perhaps he would have been more effective at Pools next season with ‘more athletic’ players around him? Can we expect similar classy farewell statements from the likes of Hastie, Lacey and Umerah?

All the best Tom Crawford. Hope it works out for you but please don't come back to The Vic and do what most ex Pools players do.

Agreed, a very nice leaving message, sentiment is right there. Its a shame really as at times there is a player in there, I think it was always a confidence thing with him, ok maybe he will find his level but his parting statement is classy.

Agree lovely message. He was a hard worker in the team but agree too many in the midfield similar type players . You need pace in midfield if you want success. Too many times our strikers isolated . 2 strikers in the box not enough. However, it is remarkable the number of goals mani and grey scored considering!

A nice touch, but sadly,at the cold hard end of the day we aren’t after Hallmark Cards points.
He’s had four years here and fans do have pangs of guilt or sympathy when certain players leave, but it’s a transitory business not a long term position and players move on all the time, it’s basically contracting, but if you can leave with dignity you leave a good memory in the minds of the fans and that’s what counts, the nature of your departure ensures your mark on a place and people.

hope those who are backslapping the lad now were not some of those who liked giving him some stick when he played due to a few lines on the clubs official site. have both good and bad memories of him, but feel he might be missed next season if we are doing well. wherever he does end up i hope its with a good side for them to see the best of the lad.

Think he got a lot of stick at times that wasn't deserved, the fact is that he was decent on the ball, could tackle, and although not lightening fast he was probably our most mobile and energetic midfielder over the course of last season. Probably made more mistakes because he saw a lot of the ball and was willing to look to start attacks rather than just passing backward or sideways.

thought he should have scored more goals though than he did. just one of those players you expected not to score when they got the chance. even with his faults if he had been a regular 10 goal a season midfielder he,d still i feel would be with us.

Even if it’s Darlo?
I’d expect Spendymore to be interested given the Lee link.

as I say he can play in a natonal league club , would be a very good player in the league below

The gap be between nat league andteh north/south is seemingly huge - tho we still managed to lose to 2 of them
