Strikers who have just achieved what he has are coveted and if he has gone I say Thanks Mani and good luck. I hope we got a good fee.

He's getting the benefit of the doubt Mr Leggie. He got the Phillips one right so he might still be in a hot flush with that success. We'll see.

Agreed Leggie -
I'm still waiting for Hollywood's Will Ferrell to announce he's taken over the club from Raj as Mr PB previously promised us was happening

If this turns out to be true it could well explain why Phillips walked.

Did he walk? We had the new one all set up so sounds more like he was pushed

Phillips was eecpecting to be kept on….simple as that, but when he got a contract till the end of the season I thought there was something off, he piloted the ship into port and avoided relegation, but if a reward was coming with a new contract it would have been discussed earlier and obviously no such discussions were undertaken.
I suspect if Sarrii hadn’t become available Phillips would have been a candidate.
But surely Phillips must have been aware he wasn’t getting kept on if he was not involved in discussions on next season when they were entered into as regards payers contracts etc.

Mani seems to have had a very good relationship with KP - let's hope the big man isn't feeling unsettled.

snarl has been available since last november so could have taken over from askey if both party,s had agreed. just wonder if he was contacted back then wasn,t sure or didn,t fancy the job at the time so we got phillips. seems to know more about pools though or gives that impression of doing more than as if we were just opponents for a couple of games a season.

Based on his interview, he wanted a break after Woking. Think he told the board that in Jan so he brought in KP until Sarl was ready.

As mentioned previously I understand Sarll was offered the job before KP but was on ‘gardening leave’ at Woking and would have lost out financially if he had taken our offer.

This sounds more plausible - he did want the Pools job but didn't want to miss out on being paid off by Woking - so was busying himself by watching on from afar, until his contract expired

still no news of the Manny D departure. Was the rumour just made up BS to get attention? Benefit of doubt would dictate we would know some time on Monday.

All very messy and amateurish. Disappointing but not surprising from Pools.

I would have thought if ManiD was on his way- given that the season is only just finished and also the fact that he is still under contract that any deal would involve a significant transfer fee given the size of his contribution this season.

The club are in no hurry to sell him and any bid tabled would be put into the public domain to allow other interested parties to make a better offer.

I obviously wouldn't want to see him leave, and now he's got a partnership with young Joe, would be surprised if he wanted out before seeing how the land lies, with the new gaffer and summer recruitment.

Only then will he decide if he's going to jump ship. We're not in May yet and the EFL transfer window of August 31st - is still 4 whole months away- so think it highly unlikely that he has already left the club.

I felt this was the case when i first read it but Pools being Pools, anything is possible so there is always a hint of uncertainty.

if somebody is waving a cheque book about he,ll be gone. seriously though every player has a price and if some club is willing to make a daft offer for anybody i, seriously think about it. thats as long as the manager is allowed to use it on replacements.

id imagine KP will get another post fairly quick - he shown that in his short tenure with Pools he could make something out of nothing tbh.
only done his CV the world of good tbh as he wasnt technically sacked either.

anyways the Mani D thing is shite - hes going no where and neither is Sweens by all accounts

Lets not forget in his last 11 games Phillips picked up around 13 points which is almost relegation form, are we not getting a bit carried away over him? I know he had little to work with but still he want pulling up trees, its his start that made his record look really good.

Little to work with? To be fair Billy, there wasn't enough fit players to fill a bench by the middle of March and Pools were playing twice a week. People were getting picked who were obviously knackered. Nobody would have been surprised if Pools had lost the last 4 or 5 - but they kept going.

slightly off topic but about our squad depth anyways...wonder what happened to Dickenson ? He just kind of vanished. Also for the record now without a club after getting released by Oldham.

Our squad ‘depth’ was like the bay at Morecambe. Plenty of it but no real depth.

Otis Khan, managed something like 48 minutes. Did we pay his wages till the end of the season? What a con! Are GRimsby still holding on to him?

To be fair we don't know if Phillips signed them or if he told Joe Monks what he wanted and they were Monks choices. Might explain why Phillips is Head Coach but Sarll has been appointed manager??

That was something that struck me too- about Sarrl being called Manager rather than Head Coach.

Got to be more to it than what was in KP's statement - would be interested to hear Auld Len's version of events given that he was Assistant Coach and is now basically Director of Football. Not that we'll ever find out given the secrecy that envelopes the club,in such matters.

Maybe Serial Bull Shitter Extroadinare
(Phillis Mackem) - Mr Porter and Boyd, is able to indulge us with what his sauces have told him? sctatchinghead

Can imagine Manny D will be a wanted man.
100 grand offer will probably see him off.

Hope him n Grey are both still here in August along with 2 new good fast wingers.
Now I maybe to ambitious.

3 shite and 2 who hadn,t played much because of injuries and khan hardly kicking a ball for us. yet more crap signed after christmas which apart from the odd player has happened for years before. wonder how many other clubs got lumbered with their versions of the above who were short on bodies.
