He said that he doesn't favour this passing around the back and he likes his centre forward to have more touches than his goalie.
That is music to my ears and look forward to him fulfilling that.

Lets be honest passing the ball around the back has very rarely succeeded for us. Not sure how featherstone would fit into his team, if thats the case because he has spent most of his pools career going sideways or backwards to the defence.

Try a pineapple suppository …..it’ll alleviate the ‘vibes’.

If that doesn't do the trick a hedgehog poultice to the nethers is worth a try.

Interesting quotes from the new manager.

" If you can't run and you can't tackle you can't play for me".

"I don't like to see lots of possession with passes back to the keeper"

"I like to play with athleticism and intensity with fast starts"

Will he see Fev as fitting in or not?

Where did he say this?

Various interviews in the press at his previous clubs. Easy enough to find on Google.

not saying that he wont alter our style of play, but i,d like to see us play before i,d stake any money on it. what he might want to do might be stopped by the players he still has at his disposal. that would make us worse by trying to play a type of game the players are not up to.

Can we really get any worse? It's been tortuous to watch for most of the last 2 or 3 seasons imo.

quick answer is yes. we have been saying this for years but since our first season back in the league our position has been lower for the following two. think we all know the main problem on the pitch but sarll could quite easily over compensate for our shortcomings which would not be the first time this has happened in the game.

We can all believe what we want about a new style of play before a ball is kicked in anger. Sarrl's brand of total football didn't stop Ramsgate of the Isthmian League South East from knocking Woking out of the FA Cup.

True, they're pretty common in the middle of a long losing run.

Well here's an interesting stat about Mr Sarll - he's never lost a game as Pools manager. Hopefully he can keep it up.

I don't believe anything one way or the other on how things will pan out.
We'll know soon enough without speculating or guessing but I do accept that some folk enjoy doing that, Some even speculate and then spend the rest of their time repeating it over and over again. That's over and over again.
Bless 'em.

I've been thinking (dangerous I hear you say). Anyway we all know how Feaths can pass a football and cast your mind back to the sort of balls he used to produce for Rhys Oates and Luke James to latch on to.
If this new guy brings in the electric pace he is supposed to be known for, maybe he might see Feaths as the guy producing the ammunition.
Just a thought.

I don't need a tin hat. It is not my idea, I'm simply offering a "what might happen". It seems to be the thing to do at the moment.

oates and james were a few seasons back and he,d not getting any younger. physically he does not look a kevin ellison who played into his 40,s and looked a player like the rest who have come to the end of a decent career.

Yeah I agree but we don't make the decisions mate, we just have to watch the scenario put in front of us.

I think this exact thing has been said since Challinor left. Maybe one day we will finally bring in the pace he needs to get him back to his best...
