Taking the teams results since his appointment and extrapolating the 26 points from 17 games, we would have 70 points. That’s good enough to have finished 8th.

Not a bad omen for next season methinks given he now has the opportunity to get rid of some dead wood and improve the team.

Clean slate, start afresh, don’t have much choice really, but did we ever.
We travel in hope.

One of KP's biggest problems is that he has had to cope with a heavily depleted squad due to an abnormal injury problem. His options have been reduced because of this but he still managed to improve our performance, points per game ratio at least.
Obviously recruitment is going to be the key but he already has the probability of two very good players in Dodds and Mancini being added to his squad, if they return fit and completely over their injuries and that is not a bad start to his squad. Promising youngsters coming through is also a step forward.
Cautious optimism for me.
I think he knows what he is doing so let him get on with it. We'll have a good idea when the squad I hope he forms turns up for pre season.

Right.
Incredible performance really especially in the circumstances.
G16 W7 D5 L4 Win rate 43.8%.
Came in when literally no one knew where the next win was coming from.
Morale rock bottom.
Relegation a real possibility.
Has still not made a permanent signing and has had to work with other peoples dross.
Squad not good enough, fit enough and plenty not arsed enough.
And because of "injuries" in the final run had only 10 contracted senior players available, 2 loans, and an 18 yr old at right back and 3 kids on the bench
Yet still produced those stats.
Miraculous.
Only the Bunker's resident village idiot and ever so Loyal T.V fan would argue otherwise.

Twaddle back at it with his one man tribute act

I hope Phillips does well next year, and given it seems he is getting the job I am going to (try) to lay off the complaints
I have my opinion but have been wrong many times before so who knows.

Let’s see the retained list and signings and then go from there i suppose.

Yes Loyal that is the thing to do right now. Just hope you give KP your backing if he does sign some proper good players or at least give him 10 games before you start your Phillips out campaign.

Absolutely has to be keeping Mani D and Grey. If either or both are sold I won’t be looking at Philips, as there’d be a bigger issue afoot!

Every lower league club sells their better players, so nothing amiss if we do the same. The bigger issue would be if we could get good replacements in.

Would you have a different view if they sold both of them and signed Langstaff? That’s not a loaded question by the way. Just curious what others think.

Raj is waiting for you to step forward  You know how Raj likes to do things when he appoints a new manager. So the deal breaker is would you be prepared to accept KP as your assistant manager

You might be disappointed there, looks like he could sign.

Depends who to and for how much but you say 'good' replacements... I'd say the two of them are excellent at this level and it really isn't easy to find forwards with the ability to get a club promoted. Under Challinor we had Oates and Armstrong but it is actually rare we've had two players score nearly 40 between them. Obviously if we were genuinely trading up that would be good business but this is Pools we're talking about and we're more likely to end up with a Cullen... good player in his day and when fit but you know what I mean.

It's a good question but see my answer above... more likely to sell and take a punt on someone injury prone or someone proven in the Icelandic Prem. We haven't sold either yet though, so all hypothetical and hopefully nothing to worry about! :)

OOO ARGH OOO ARGH "RUBBISH PHILLIPS"

its all guesswork but i feel askey felt the world was against him which went across to the players making morale rock bottom. KP lifted the place and improved results if not every performance. i,ll let him have the latter as mainly our defence was the strong point and with our midfield it would have been har or stupid to play expensive football. team picking itself week after week with a few he might not have wanted to play anyway. he should be able to improve on what we have next season as it will be more than just the dregs who are available in the summer to sign.

Remarkable achievement - someone please find an ex Pools manager whom has done similar ! Neil Cooper maybe ?

Imagine things being alot better next season although no one can fault our very good start to last season. If that can happen again yet stay consistent then its promotion for me ! or at least getting to the Promotion Final. KP just has to get the perm signings absolutely bang on. Loans are a gamble regardless and they come and go. We may get 1 gem out of the potential 10/12 we see across the season. No way will we see only 2 loans come in all season.

Each season this league seems to see an almost relegated team come back twice as strong the next. For me if Barnet dont win the Promotion race then they will be the only team to bother us next season. The teams coming down always have a wobble and id forget about them for now. Gateshead will no doubt loose alot of their decent players and cant quite see where they go as a club unless they get this bullshit thing out of their way with the FL/FA and council. Alty for me are the dark horses and team that has come out of no where. Will happen again next season only be a totally different team. Only thing next season for me (although we got beat off the majority of them) the relegated teams going back down I feel wont be as good as the likes of the Yeovils and Tamworths coming up this year. Be good to see which other teams come through aswell- Scunny in the mix too - be tougher league if the likes of them get through.
