This lad will be sensational next season. I can see him getting a bag full of goals by the end of December then being bought by a higher level club like Stockport.

The superfast 2 new wingers should ensure 17 goals for Joe's move to Stockport or AC Milan. :o

I actually agree with this--I think with the right amount of luck injury wise he could have a real breakout year--Phillips seems to have improved him as well so credit there but i think most of it is just hes naturally grown up and now looks a lot stronger.

Outstanding work ethic always gives 100% effort unlike the majority of this mess of a team.

He's improved dramatically this season, got much stronger and has a bite to his game now. Seems more confident in his own ability too.

What if a club like Wrexham, say, came in with a bid of £200K now. Would you take it ?

What if a top film star came with a £200k bid for your wife….?
Obviously you’d think about it, then say OK …..but the money’s mine bbolt
Same with footballers, but it depends what the money’s gonna be spent on.

No.
But I don't make those decisions.
£200k is less than what we would get from roughly ten home games if we attracted another 1000 adults into the ground. On the other hand if we sell our best players and that resulted in gates falling, the benefit of that £200k would soon be eroded.
We have to send out a message that will encourage decent players to come to the club.
I'm not saying I would rule out selling Joe but I would want a lot more than £200k.

not as simple as it sounds. we cannot hold the lad back by refusing a decent offer. main problem is that no matter how he is playing we,d get less for him as a non league club than we would have got if we had kept our league status. think 200k would be a decent amount for him if we could negotiate some add ons for appearances made and future sell on clauses. there comes the problem as i would not trust anyone at pools negotiating a roundabout outside morrisons never mind a complex transfer of our main asset.

Hopefully KP sees him as a natural pairing with Mani D and stops playing him out wide next season. Think they'd do some damage as a strike partnership in a 442 formation.
Really we should be looking to tie him down on a new contract because I think he can leave on a free at the end of next season.

The man asked us what we think and I replied accordingly. I am well aware that we can't stand in the kid's way but my focus is solely on the question. On top of that I want the best for the club and I don't think £200k is a good offer. You do and that's fine by me. On a question like that opinions will vary and, as the question is not simple for you, it is very simple for me. Still no. I would want more plus add ons, especially considering his age and potential. I
think that goes without saying but you brought up add ons and I agree with you. These days add ons are par for the course.

makes sense to extend his contract now and not wait till next season. you can see it unfold now that somebody say bradford city put in some silly offer for him in january that the club refuses but the lads head is turned with a drop off in form and joining em for nothing in the summer. longer his contract is the more we could get for him and will not stop teams putting in better offers for him if they see he is good enough. its a win win for us as while he is a pools player he,ll be playing well for us with a big transfer fee at the end of it.

I thought that if someone under 24 who has been through the club's youth system couldn't be poached without a fee, normally settled by tribunal or has that rule been abandoned ??????

I believe ManiD & Joe got 38 goals between them this season and neither one played a full season. Also ManiD had a number of partners before they settled for Joe being a starter which was late in the season. Imagine what potential these two will have next season, especially if they play every game.I cannot understand anyone not believing we can and probably will get promoted next season. If these two do the business again and both Doddsy and Mancini return fully fit then promotion looks nailed on with 6 / 7 good signings.

totally agree Leggie - we have probably found his strike partner for next season and he was here all along. Those 2 should both be pushing for 50 between them next season. But i think both will have their admirers. Have to make sure we keep Joe though. Sign him upto something bigger and longer and if the wolves do come in then we need to be looking at like 7 figures for him. Money in the game is silly and for youth prospects too. No reason why we should be asking for silly money, especially if its a wrexham or stockport who come calling.

Come on Kev tell the truth now .I seen you in Corals asking prices for Pools to win the league.

The bookies had us 3rd favourites l last season.
They know how to mug punters

shows even the bookies know sod all about the national league. best thing we can do is bet on the other 23 teams as that would give pools a good chance to win something.
