Apparently KP is considering signing a long throw merchant for next season.

Set pieces seem to be classed as important in this league so that will increase the prospect of more accurate crosses. All we'll have to do then is coach our players to win their fair share of headers in the oppo box.

Probably so we can throw balls from deep in the opposition half back to Fev on the edge of our box to pass back to our keeper.

Now no sarcasm, my pizza’s nearly done……that said though Maidenhead had a great long throw specialist who put some lovely balls in the box, as good as a corner.

Impressive player, good physique and could handle himself..Like I said I was impressed at his precision to actually place a ball in the box from a throw in better than most people could manage from a corner.

I'd like to see us getting the big lads in the box more and knocking the ball long from free kicks around the halfway line too instead of fannying about with short free kicks creating zilch.

Well after reading the Mail I 100% agree with which areas of the team he wants to improve.
2 new fast wingers sounds good to me.
2 wingers n 2 forwards ain't rocket science.
Dalton Baker Allon Honour.
Somewhere near that standard would do.
Am I to ambitious tho. sctatchinghead

Pools try that too (they did it plenty in the game against Dagenham on Saturday) - 9 times out of 10 it ends with a big central defender getting his nut on it and sending it straight back towards our half.

What I'd like to see more of is the type of defence splitting through ball that Mani D managed to put Joe Grey in for his goal. We've not done it anywhere near enough this season, whereas a large proportion of the goals Pools have conceded were set up like that.

Hope we get a fully fit Mancini back for pre-season and another attacking midfielder who can do the business week in, week out unlike Callum Cooke's one good game in 5.

looking at most of our opponents i thought that was one condition you had to have to be allowed to play in the national league. for me its anti football as much as sideways passing is in your own half. bloody boring.

To be fair to Cooke our defensive style doesn't suit him at all, whenever he gets the ball he's looking to get forward but generally there's only Mani D in front of him so he often ends up trying an ambitious pass that doesn't come off. Playing just behind a front 2 with a more dynamic midfield he'd be a far better player and more consistent imo.
As for 1 good game in 5 you could say that for most of the squad.

but fans have seen what he is capable of which winds them up more than some of the others. its not as if in all his time with us that clean sheets were regarded as better than goals with other managers we have had.

He's probably the most gifted player we've got but our style of play doesn't accommodate him.In the right team with runners and cleverer players around him he'd be dictating play in a decent side. A luxury player we don't have space for and will probably free up a decent wage when he goes.

Mancini is by far the most gifted player we have

Cooke is decent on the ball but so one paced it impacts the whole team, plus has a tendency to whine at the rec whenever hustled off the ball

Hopefully he’s the best paid player at a national league North team next year and he can give it the biggun in front of chorley and peterborough sports fans
