Dear all,

Leading up to the Euro tournament in June this year, I am conducting some research looking at fans’ views towards the role of football in response to military conflict. For those interested in this topic, I have created a short survey that should not take up too much of your time: https://doit.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form ... JfShOSBDDw

Participation is completely voluntary, but I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this topic.

‘The role of football in response to military conflict’…. ? There’s always military conflict going on in the background somewhere in the world, some just get more publicity. Why should it affect the Euro’s and why would football have a role? It’s football.

Id of presumed this would of been more apparent during the last world cup given it was on the doorstep of a warzone. Although im guessing the Ukraine is as close to Germany as say Doha was to Syria or the Lebanon so makes sense. Hopefully the Euros dont suffer any grief whether that be from Ukraine / Rusky idiots wanting to stage protests or even worse our radical islamist friends given whats happening in Gaza

one of the reasons i do not like international football. far too much politics from the present and past associated with it. remember those headlines in the mirror years ago when we played germany. goodness knows what they were in other countries. all teams are doing is representing themselves as well as their country in a sport and not diplomats or politicians from that country.

The only involvement of football in warfare as far as I know was the knockabout between the Tommies and the Krauts during the Christmas truce in 1914. Other than that it had sod all to do with war.

I feel it’s just another kite flying exercise to find some irrelevant link between the two for no worthwhile point…I couldn’t imagine Hitler saying to Goering “ Look Herman, I’m as keen as the next Nazi to invade Poland , but there’ll be fecking hell to pay if we get kicked out of the Euro’s for the suggestion of a Blitzkrieg…Nah, it’s just not worth the hassle and anyway I’ve got a big bet on my team Nuremberg Panzers, forget Poland”.

be interested to see the outcome of this and other research polls we are asked to do. always do them but you never see what the end of the results are.

Depends how the information gatherer interprets it.
It can be made to do anything the interpreter wants it to do.

Filled it in and got to the end, spotted the word ‘none binary’ and decided it wasn’t for me.
