top of blackhall rocks next and double yellow lines all the way down the road to rip you off. are those parking meters ones you can put cash in or the new type where you have to do something on a phone to pay or like me have to ask like a kid if they,ll do it for me and i,ll give em the cash.

I can understand the parking charges if it’s causing congestion, it’s just another cash cow. Does that mean the ice cream vendors etc have to pay the charges, it wont be worth it if they have to.

I think it's the sneaky way that where there are existing parking charges, they increase these way above inflation.

The other thing is the charges at Hospitals where they also "conveniently" put down double yellow lines on nearby roads leaving you no option but to park on the Hospital car park.

It will not apply to the ice cream vans who incidentally pay no fees to operate up at Crimdon. Good friends of mine had been selling ice creams up there for years before they retired around 5 years back. BTW they earn a fortune up there on sunny days especially Bank Holidays.

I don't go to Crimdon or the Blue Lagoon anymore. :(
Used by the masses as little more than dog toilets.
Doubt if it would be allowed to get that bad if it were down south somewhere.
Serious heath hazards imo.

I go there with my dogs and I’m sick to death of Covid owners letting their dog shit anywhere….Mine are allowed out first thing to use a particular spot in the garden and I always have a reel of bags on me, but I despair of pig ignorant arse not talking responsibility too.

You are well in the minority of dog owners imo Mr Snowy.
But can you explain something to me?
Why do some pick up their dog shit.
Put it in a little black bag.
And then leave on the ground instead of taking it away?

That’s my biggest bug bear too, our lass goes ballistic, it would make more sense to actually leave it for nature to deal with it….but we don’t that either, so bag it and bin it and have a hand sanitiser in your car, I do.

Where I live the responsible owners leave their dog shit in poop bags along the route for say a mile or two and pick up on the way back. Unfortunately some don't and the more obnoxious ones even hang them in trees and bushes.

I believe that if you don’t accept responsibility for your dog you shouldn’t have one and cleaning up is part of that responsibility.

money does not grow on trees but shit bags seem to do. i,ll pick it up and bin it usually but not up on the moors where mine likes to go into the heather to do it. unlike my previous one who we called path way pat because she,d only shit on one. you need to remember at times even the most responsible dog owner can get caught out at times if you change your coat and find out too late your bags are in another one.

I saw one the other day that looked like a train crash with four groups in a line the size of broken black puddings liked carriages that had jumped the rails…..I’d hate to have seen the size of the dog…you’d need a black rubble bag and shovel…unless it was the owner.

there are so many owners you meet now whose rescue dog is 3 or 4 years old now. my lad got a bull mastive bitch who was 4 on saturday. a lovely dog even if she is not my cup of tea. her ex owner was another fake distraught owner who lives fairly local but the invertation of she can come over and see her when she wants has had no replies.

I used to enjoy walking around the Blue Lagoon area, but recent coastal protection work has made it very difficult to get on and off the beach. As far as I am aware no consultation or notification was published.

Public Footpath over the Golf Course from the car park.
But you need to avoid the balls n bulls.
Lovely beach on a Sunny day with a nice view of Seaton from the pier.
Dolphins as well.

You’re right about the bulls, some right big buggers and they don’t give way on the road, not that I want them too. The sheep are a bit more co-operative.
Got Ratboy off a farm and he was bred to live with sheep at lambing time for a couple of months outside…..stop the foxes taking the lambs…..when he sees them in the field near the path he sniffs them through the fence and they gather round, really weird to watch.

had a rottie once from a farm and she was the same with cattle including bulls. remember once walking across a field and she was off the lead. she bolted, hearded up the cattle and took em to a nearby barn. about a minute later the heavens opened where you,d be soaked in a few minutes. just how did the dog know this as i didn,t know what was going to happen.

Strange how working dogs act, throwing a ball for my two yesterday and Ratboy always wins over Ruby, but she’s doing it for fun but because he was a working dog it’s a job/ duty to him that he has to win and does every time.
How do they have such different mindsets.

always have owned working breeds with one thing in common that none have accepted any food from strangers till they know them but will eat it if i handed it to them. thats without training them to do that either. none have picked up disgarded food either which is a good thing as we have some evil bastards in my area,

Same here, people offer them treats/food despite me saying they won’t eat it.
They see them sniff and turn away and are really surprised as other dogs are gobbling them up.
Also they aren’t defensive with food ….even kids can take their food away from them and they just looked bemused and a bit pee’d off.

Last time i was at Crimdon there was a ton of parking spaces and nobody there. Paying to park at Crimdon is ridiculous. How much did they spend instlaling the meters. Didnt Butlins want to develop a resort there in the early 80s? Seems crazy that was not given a green light. Its a decent beach, could be really good

I live near Crimdon at it amazes me how many cars are parked there especially on weekends. There is also a new cafe which gets very busy.

i,d guess though if its cold or pissing down the only people there will be the odd dog walker that takes dog ownership seriously. proper dogs do not give a shit about the weather as long as they are outside. its the so called nice warm day that some are not keen on.

Our lass is there like an East German border guard when they come in out of the rain, with her dog towels, makes rugby look like flower arranging.
