They were that much of a stonewall penalty that I can’t even remember them!

Halifax’s manager has got a hard working side that’s for sure and they fought hard for everything, but I can’t remember our keeper having to make many last ditch saves.

they did create the best chance of the game in open play and did have a couple of shouts for penalty,s which could have been given if we had one of those refs wanting to even things up. might have a nosy at their board and see if there are lots of whinging yorkies around.

If you do have a look I don't think you will be disappointed. The self styled land of the cricket ball has perfected the art of whinging which is aptly demonstrated by the Smoggies.
Now there's a thought, we haven't been infiltrated by Smoggs have we????

didn,t bother in the end as you have to create an account just to have a nosy.

After our midweek trouncing I wasn’t particularly looking forward to today’s game but quite enjoyed it in the end. Lots of effort and endeavour from both sides although there wasn’t a lot of goalmouth action to show for it. Their keeper, who had looked quite commanding throughout, ended up making the error which led to our goal. A definite penalty, well spotted by the referee, who had a decent game apart from missing a few yellow cards for heavy Halifax challenges.

Best for me were two players who were left out of the starting eleven on Tuesday - Cooke and Stephenson. Stephenson handled their wide players well and looks impressive going forward and Cooke seems to be the only pools player able to link midfield and attack effectively.

See their manager is claiming they had two stonewall penalties turned down. Bollocks, they missed one sitter and had a couple of shots straight at Jameson, otherwise they were bang average and got worse the longer the game went on.

Very decent turn out in the Rink End again - I'm sure I've been at the Shay when they had less in than that for home games. :) There were two pleasant surprises this afternoon - it was lovely and sunny when bad weather was forecast, and Pools played well enough to grind out a result. To be fair, we were never in danger of being passed to death again the way Halifax play.

Just watched the highlights and ManiD pulls the lads shirt from behind just as he was going to score. The referee could not see as ManiD was in his line of vision. It was a stonewall penalty though. But thank goodness it was not noticed and we'll done ManiD

The people who travel there and the people who buy the live stream etc obviously give a toss.
It will be less nail biting and not as crucial, although we are not mathematically safe as you say.
We can at least concentrate on enjoying the game and leave our nails alone.
My football team are playing so I want to watch them is the simple answer.

Good point Derwent, it’s like realising you’re going to finish mid table and deciding in March to just not bother watching your club or taking any notice of what’s happening till August.

That quote sounds more like the players than some fans.

Kev, can you replace ‘surgically’ with ‘urgently’ ….your option sounds like a bloodbath and probably illegal
