I’ve seen worse back in the 80’s, but this lot have no excuse, it’s like we keep entering Delaney’s Donkey in the Grand National and blaming the jockey.

Wasn’t that because you never got relegated but the league clubs voted wether you stayed up or not ?

I have lost my interest in the club more this season than i can ever remember before. My regular attendance at matches is no more. I just cant be arsed as i just dont enjoy it.
The 4000 who attend the matches are made of stronger stuff than me.......i take my hat off to you.
If NLN beckons at least we will have more local (ish) opposition.

If this form continues they’ll be all local Derby’s…on the Rec….but on the bright side, handy for me.

It’s a zombie club as I have said before, not sure what pleasure Raj could be deriving from it either, won’t sell but overseeing failure after failure
And likely losing money too - shit show

No..
But based on league positions only, if we finish in 17th place or below this time round it will formally be our worst season ever.
We stand in 14th position at the moment :)

Seasons spent at level 3 of the football league system: 43
Seasons spent at level 4 of the football league system: 48
Seasons spent at level 5 of the football league system: 4

2017–18 National League 5 15th of 24
2018–19 National League 5 16th of 24
2019–20 National League 5 12th of 24
2020–21 National League 5 4th of 22

surely we have not spent 43 seasons in level 3 as most of those would be the same as the 4th tier as league division 3 north was the lowest one at the time.

Yes its handy for me as i could get the number 15 bus and have a pint in the Catcote before the game then the Woodcutter after. :)

There was a Third Division North and South before Division 4 was formed in 1958.

thats what i,m trying to say. 30 odd of those 43 must have been in the 3rd div. north, the lowest division you could be in as a northern league club.

We got beat 8-1 at home by Plymouth in 1994. I was at that one an all.

But that was Plymouth, Paul Dalton and co., not bloody Gateshead. Last night pisses all over Plymouth on the embarrassment scale. Unless we have been so shite for so so so long that we are all numbed-out embarrassment-wise.

Didn't Pools once lose 0-8 at Swansea and then beat Palace, Bob Newton 920 new seat et al? If so, watch out Halifax. Well, maybe not.

Statistically obviously, but only you Poolies who have seen the majority of their games in the past 50 years can possibly comment.

My first 30 years watching Pools full time was the 69 to 89…..excitement was a word not usually bandied about, it was more hope than anything, Gibson, despite his faults gave us a taste of what it could be like, but the years before that we’re just a grind for the stoic amongst us…but the club had to survive and did on continual life support….and survival became an achievement even victory in itself, which todays fans fail to comprehend.

yes, and from the the early 60,s a good season was one we didn,t have to apply for re election. then cloughie came in to give us hope but normal service resumed after he left for a few more deadly seasons.

You both come across like you want all generations of Poolies to ensure more failurism.

I'm sure the older Barrow fans are applauding from heaven not getting pissed off because they missed out.
A tad of ambition is permitted.
Twisted wordage n lack of ambition no doubt on its way. sctatchinghead :angry-tappingfoot: violin

Doesn't come about as wanting anything of the sort!
They're just relating historical facts. Does anyone want history to repeat itself - not from what I hear and see.

As for embarrassing moments, we've certainly been a lot worse with players not being paid week after week, blanket collections around the pitch to keep us going, borrowing kit after ours was stolen, etc etc
What should be embarrassing for some of the current squad is thar even when they weren't getting paid and didn't have the ability that some of the current lot have, the team always gave 100% commitment.

yes its the commitment that gets me down far more than bad results. you can see when the chips are down who hides on the pitch, play the simple pass and those who never stop. feel now for some its play offs should be a minimum and anything else totally unacceptable. why has this happened and just feel televised football has a lot to blame by the pundits that drift down to our level. even a n upcoming game is looked forward to more than others and classed as a big game only to end a borefest and some are dirided because opponents are seen as not being worth watching but end up a 90 minute thriller. for me a wins a win and a defeat a defeat no matter who and othersplay.
