Sounds like a good day then, what with a 4-1 victory as well. I've always had a liking for Tamla - much to the surprise of most of my muso mates. The strangest act they had (strange for Motown that is) was R. Dean Taylor. Liked a lot of his stuff & he produced one of my favourite live bands of the 70's - Strife, who came from Liverpool. R. Dean Taylor's 'Ghost in my house' was a classic single and of course covered imaginatively by the mighty Fall.

If I ever see the Who's 'Seeker' for a £1 or less I'll get it for you.

Peel famously said you were right and I was wrong (to/of Tony Blackburn). You just can't beat tamla (unless it's stax). Saw Dancing In The Streets, the tamla show in London in June - absolute top class.

I like the Velvelettes & the Elgins too. I'll try and seek out the Seeker. There is a massive Oxfam shop in Cambridge, not to far away from us - it's on 2 floors and as well as the usual 2nd hand clothing, furniture, Fair Trade products etc. they have several pianos for sale (I'm always tempted until our Maureen asks "well, where are you going to put that") even drum kits and a vast selection of records, tapes & cd's. I got 2, Flock of Seagulls singles there, both picture discs in mint condition.
