No problem Derwent but further to my topic I would like to add with out opening a new topic.
Whilst there is no mention of the c word, I copied this from the the BBC Website re the enquiry,it does leave.a sour taste in your mouth where it says there were ‘inappropriate decisions and there was a culture of excessive confidentiality and a lack of transparency at the development corporation’. I would ask the question why, it’s public money we are talking about.if Lord Houchen loses the Mayoral election in May he is currently way behind in the polls as anyone more or less being a conservative is more questions could be asked.

From the BBC Website.
The review stated.
Inappropriate decisions'
In one case the panel looked at how private property developers have ended up owning 90% of the site.
The report says they put no money into the scheme, but they have made money on the back of public sector investment of more than £560m.
The deal, it is said, should have been scrutinised more by the Tees Valley Combined Authority - all five of the Tees Valley local councils.
More broadly, the review found a culture of excessive confidentiality and a lack of transparency at the development corporation.
The final conclusion states that “inappropriate decisions and a lack of transparency which fail to guard against allegations of wrongdoing are occurring, and the principles of spending public money are not being observed”.
The review panel makes 28 recommendations, many of which propose more openness and more oversight by the Tees Valley Combined Authority.

No Snowy to put it politely I am p***** off how often the public are constantly being ripped off and don’t appear to complain apart from paying their taxes, the NHS, cost of living etc. Yet money is thrown away by the billions by the government, HS2, PPE Equipment Supply, Track and Trace System which never worked, £25 billion on false claims in the Furlough Scheme which isn’t going to be investigated then we have the Utility companies whilst raising bills are still making massive profits even although the whole price has dropped.
The British people just lie down and take it up the a*** the attitude of many is I am all right Jack, f*** the rest.

you have missed out the money spent on the dinghy divers, green and anti car policies and vanity projects to appease and excite a minority plus others. Its not lying down and just taking it, but short of a real revolution there is nothing the large majority of us can do about it. evn the polling booth has become a pointless exercise now.

This topic pops up like the bulbs in the garden every couple of months…I’d imagine doing it once and debating it is airing it enough …but you keep digging the corpse up and repeating the same mantra….if I was that way inclined I’d think it was an obsession or you’re repeating it for political purposes…repetition does not, make it fact.
If you could prove anything you’d soon flag, it up…..so it’s the option of gossiping till people accept what you’re saying on here is fact…?
In fact you don’t seem to arrive at any conclusion of substance.

Jamie I haven't got a problem as such. The problem seems to lie with your obsession with using this forum as a political tool to further what agenda you have. You have now arrived at an unacceptable level and, as such, are in danger of putting the forum at risk. This will not be tolerated. Do a bit of thinking before you are tempted to use the bunker to personally attack people. If you are unable to exercise the control which you know you should be doing then get yourself on facebook or whatever and ply your obsessions there. There are lots of people use this forum and enjoy doing so as there are guests who simply enjoy reading it. They will not be compromised. Have a good talk with yourself and decide which path you want to take.

Point taken Derwent, I don’t create my own agenda, the topic I brought up was about The Tees Valley Mayoral Elections on May the 2nd which was highlighted in the local media for all to read, for some reason not in the Hartlepool Mail though, I could think of a couple of reasons but I don’t want to get in bother again or they don’t know Hartlepool is in Tees Valley. In the articles it mentioned the Steelworks site so I was not digging the corpse up and repeating the same mantra although I have very strong opinions about the whole affair and apologies if it could have caused the Bunker problems.
As far as personal attacks I come under a fair few myself, a few posters have a pop at me because of my opinions, it doesn’t bother me though, part and parcel of my opinions.

You’re not being assaulted, ambushed, depth charged, dive bombed, torpedoed, machine gunned, mortared, sniped at, confronted by a pitchfork wielding mob with torches, suffering a Banzai charge or have have stormtroopers surrounding your house…….you are simply having your opinion challenged, it’s called debate, you have a viewpoint, others have an opposing viewpoint….it’s how these places work….just a tip, everyone ain’t gonna share your view in life or my view either, that’s life.

add to that if you do make a personal attack on somebody then its better to tell us where you got the source of this information from especially if this person has a higher profile than those on here.

I wonder if the Private Eye journos have any form of personal security as they tend write about some very controversial subjects. Jill Dando is a case which has never been solved, was a personal vendetta against her ?

A former Boeing employee known for raising concerns about the firm's production standards has been found dead in the US.
John Barnett worked for Boeing for more than 30 years before retiring in 2017.
In the days before his death, he had been giving evidence in a whistleblower lawsuit against the company, whistleblower and commits suicide ?

Clever use of words and having the financial clout to defend anything filed against them.
I'm not an avid reader of private eye but I imagine they are more au fait with the dubious art of sailing against the wind than you or I.
Social media is full of people who think they can say whatever they like, to whoever they like and whenever they like and feel totally safe but are soon affronted when challenged.
Discipline and respect are becoming things of days gone by and for me that is a shame.
In our little world we have a level of respect and tolerance towards each other and our norm is an enjoyable one, both for the contributors and people who just like reading our "philosophy".
However there is a line and there has to be and it is incumbent upon each of us to do our best to live up to our traditions and protect the place.
The art is staying as far from the line as we can, rather than trying to spend our time on or beyond it.

I was a subscriber for years then it began to drift away from slagging off across the board and seemed to align itself with one set of views politically…. A shame, so I called it a day. sadx

Sunak has said there won’t be a GE on the 2nd of May the same date as the Council and Mayoral elections, I suspect there will be a bit of mud slinging over Teesworks.
