0-3 down before half time away to Altrincham. We definitely avoided a bullet. Relegation almost nailed on ...that's what can happen with a money bags owner who really wants to be a manager.

Hasn't gone to plan for York.
But we not a million miles in front of them for this season.
Unless we reel off 9 wins.!

they were only promoted last season along with fylde. fylde as well have struggled until recently but york seem in complete free fall. possibly that hammering could be a turning point for them as there is only one way for them to go now. scraping draws and losing by the odd goals can paper over a lot of the cracks at clubs.

Definitely expected better of them considering new multi-millionaire owners with a stated desire to progress the club backed up with a proven manager at the start of the season and significant investment in the team.
Hope they stay up purely because they're an easy to get to away day.

agree, and rather play them at home than some southern outfit who have a supporters tandem for their fans.

The owner did exactly what the Yeovil lot said he would do... signed a load of randoms on his terms. Then it appeared they did what we do and scrape the loan barrel only their signings where worse than ours ! The recruitment guy needs the sack tbh. The owner posted something last night about better housing, nutrition and training facilities - all of which has made sod all difference ! Again another dodged bullet by Raj. Well done ! Cant see them battling out of it tbh ! Fylde and Kiddy seem to be picking up points and staying consistent. Id have that Adeyemi off them like hes a good player for this level but id assume hes on good money. No doubt be off if they get the drop !

Spent over £150k on 2 CBs and almost £300k on Akinyemi after the takeover, and the manager recently sacked was no mug.
Mind Paddy McLoughlin has been a mainstay of the team so the overall squad quality must be shite.

Watched a bit of their game last night and the Effort put in was way below whats needed.
They try to play pretty football and as we all know if you don,t battle to a man in this league you don,t get points.

This is their second season at that level now. They went up the year before Fylde and Kidderminster

They never recovered from losing Askey, don't know why he should do so well there and struggle with us. Hopefully they can scramble free this season.

Good to see Darlington are making a great fist of escaping from the drop. Saw your lot at Spenny on Saturday and didn't look anything like a bottom 4 team, 2 well placed finishes from Spennymoor, Watson has done well for you.

But was Askey’s time at York also running out behind the scenes?

Hmmm , easy to get to York itself but a nightmare to get to the stadium, took us the best part of an hour to get there this season AFTER reaching the ring road in a mini bus. Then there's sweeet FA around the ground, Used to be a great day York but not so much now, apart from the result like.

Should have got a point at least, switched off three times at the back and got punished twice and then missed too many chances!
Aye Watson has done well, shame he was overlooked the first time before they gave the job to sideshow bob.

It appears you have a problem with Phillips.

Not at all judging him as we go not proclaiming him as a genius after a handful of games

He was never proclaimed a ‘genius’ by anyone, just a refreshing change from Askey’s stagnation and apparent loss of the ability to manage effectively….it’s more optimism and hope than anything else.
We all need hope and it was in short supply when he got the job…a positive attitude gets a positive response from the fans.
Sorry if I misinterpreted your comment.

didn,t even attempt to get a ticket for the fixture this season. what surprises me is the gates they are still getting with everything against the new ground apart from its newness and the novelty. really doubt i,ll see york away ever again.

A pub crawl around York pre and post Bootham Crescent is long past, they stopped groups of more than 3 or 4 entering city centre pubs years ago.
In terms of easy to get to, I do apologise Torquay, Yeovil, Maidstone, etc would be far easier wouldn't they? Everything is relative, we had a grand day out this season stopping at a small village a few miles from the ground where we were made most welcome as a group in the pubs.

its different for me as i,m the only poolie in the village and the visits to york consisted of me going to the match and non football family members doing their thing around the city. doubt they,d be as interested going to the green desert.

York is a doddle to get to, the problem is trying to find somewhere to park once you hit the ring road

I'm a recent convert to the park and ride once you hit the ring road. Takes all the chew of looking for a space out and costs much less than city centre parking.

Despite a few wins and a little revival York now look doomed  Two games left home to Woking and away to Solihull. That away game will relegate them cas Solihull need the three points to get a chance of top 3 finish. Funny thing is York looked totally doomed then totally safe after replacing the manager they had three recent wins to pull away ( even beating Cheaterfield ) then put on the flip flops and laid on the beach. Bye bye Mr Moneybags.

Always used it even at Bootham Crescent, easier than finding parking spaces.

Accy I am more thinking along the lines of if they stay up they will probably buy the league next season. If it wasn't for the Chairman and pots of money then ov course I would want them to survive.
