Given we not going up or down this year, need to think of next year

Permanent

Keep
Mani O, Ferguson, Dodds, Parkes Waterfall, Stephenson, Crawford (squad player) Main D, Grey, Mancini

Get Shot
Dixon, Lacey, Pruti (tho I dont mind him) Cooke (too expensive for what he is) Feather, Wallace Ndjoli Umerah, Wreh, Hastie, Patterson

Loans

Try and Sign
Aygemang, Dickerson Hendrie (if fit)

Get shot
Cooper, Jameson, Khan (not seen enough of him to keep), Duffus

Maybe I have missed someone but think that covers it, woudl leave us with about 14 plyers even if we got everyone above...plenty of scope to bring people in especially in midfield IF we get some financial backing

Jury out on Phillips as well--nothing against him but far too early to be strongly pro or against

If the out of contract players get the usual pay cut offers to stay.(which tells ya the budget is pathetic.)
Then what was the point of the Chairman pulling out of his February pulling the plug on the club.
Then knocking back a takeover.
Unless he's laffing his bollocks off at these oversupported crowds.

Opinions differ obviously.

He wont pull the plug while he gets football league parachute payments which we will get next year. The guy had no intention of going, he does these things to try and get the crowd off his back.

I would keep anyone who is still under contract next season (only cos we have to) & get rid of everyone else. They have shown week after week that they aren't good enough, KP needs to build a new squad, I hope he doesn't offer a new contract to anyone who isn't on a 2 year deal & start again from scratch.

My opinion on the subject is of no relevance to anyone but me, I grew out of that sort of thing a long time ago.
I doubt the powers that be who decide these matters are furiously scanning these pages for the ‘fans’ views and nuggets of wisdom from those amateur strategists and misfits who know about these things, but only in their vivid imagination.
Managers need this ‘advice’ like a train needs it’s passengers to push it.

the question was bound to crop up sooner than later. we all know KP will not be reading the bunker before he makes his final decisions. think the result yesterday has no bearing who would stay or go. i,d go with loyal fans list as 10 retained is a good base to start with for next season.

Right, back to business…..

We have been dreadful most of the season, yesterday only reinforced that. If it was a one off bad display, then I would agree with you that it's a setback, but unfortunately it wasn't, we reverted back to type after some good games since KP arrived.

You have to remember Pools were without a centre back through illness then the other went off injured, KP mistake was introducing a right back who had only travelled up the day before. I am sure Louis Stephenson could have been accompanied in that position.

not dreadful all season but never bossing games where we have better players on the pitch that do not show their superiority is the problem. Controlling only 20 odd minutes of matches has shown why we are where we are. Think the altrincham victory summed up the good parts of the season where we could run em ragged for the period of time i mentioned only and ended up conceeding twice after all of it.

Worth nothing before he went off Parkes was having probably the worst game he had played for us since he joined--wonder if we was another one who was ill as he looked way off it

A setback in KP’s tenure, no need to climb into the lifeboats yet.

I think we will see Mani D make a move to the league above - There wont be anyone with cash (maybe FGR) in this league next season who id imagine will make a big money move for him, unless again York decide to throw the kitchen sink at it !

We will no doubt be on the bones again as in terms of squad players.

If Raj wants to back the manager in the way he has done for Parkes and Waterfall an that standard of player comes through the door in all departments then happy days, we should be sitting top 3 with a good manager and even better team. Including a Dodds and Maninci we hope !

But if we can only sign another 2 really good players and have to fill it out again with kids and unwanted bench warmers from this league then its going to be another season of battling for mid table supremacy !

We have to be looking at either getting the best players from this league mixed with some seasoned pros or go all out and try and get lads from the leagues above and pull away like Chesterfield finally have done - but look how long its taken them to do such a task !
Pools may find themselves in this league alot longer than last time i fear !

current problem is the players that we have who get picked every week no matter how they play without fail are not consistent enough which is why we have them, most have the technical ability to be better and more consistent but not the application which the new Manager needs to address if we are to get out of this league.

I think you are right there and Mani D will be away unfortunately.
Money talks.
And I see Kabamba has just signed a new 3 and a half year deal with Barnet.
Nice.

 I said before the Barnet game that if if KP lost two in the row there'd be hell on. Hero to Zero... rinse and repeat.
Pools got beat by the teams sitting 3rd and 4th in the division. Rome wasn't built in a day and Pools aren't going to go from relegation to promotion candidates overnight.

Now that a play-off place is definitely off the agenda it's still not quite time for the retained list, another new manager or even a second tennis ball on the pitch

We need a strong finish to the season, hopefully starting at Maidenhead - though if there's another bloody injury crisis after 10 days without a game I give up :angry-tappingfoot:

For Pools to make a realistic attempt at escaping from the NL next season it is essential that we become hard to beat. There have been far too many single goal defeats this season, at least half of which should have ended in draws - or better. A quality keeper and able deputy are required along with a RB and LB although Dodds will presumably fill the former position. Quality is also required in the shape of a defensive midfielder, at least one old fashioned winger and a striking partner for Mani D. The above is of course based on the assumption that the few existing quality players are retained. Good luck with that little lot KP.

afraid some get picked because there are zero options. can anyone put a case forward for a single player who has never made our squad on a matchday. possibly burton recently.

What I don’t understand about Burton is that whilst the players are doing their pre match warm ups he is running up and down the field on his own and not even on the bench. As far as I know he is never mentioned as being injured by the manager during interviews about players available.

it does not look right to me. its as if he is on the football naughty step and the club are trying to force the lad out.could be just his natural expession but he certainly does not look a happy young lad even though he,ll be getting paid.

The fact he is a decent player aswell just makes the situation all the more weird !

he had an absolute blinder at Darlo and we had to recall him back - just send him back there and get the lad some game time.

he will be one of those that if we let go no doubt will become absolutely brilliant and get a big money move to the championship or something.

If we cant use him as a LB then change him to a LWF of sorts. Old fashioned winger. He has a left foot on him and isnt scared to get forwards. Hes damn site better than Hastie put it that way !

Considering that we have no reserve team the number of players which we'll be paying is ridiculously high. I appreciate we won't be paying the full wages of loanees (in and out), but there's around 30 players getting wages from the club at this moment in time!
Less quantity and more quality in a slimmed down squad of max 22 in the summer please.

When he's warming up before a game he's probably the 17th man so if anyone gets injured in the warm up he will be warmed up to step onto the bench. That's my theory anyway!

Good theory/idea but I’ve never noticed other teams do it.

Rather than knocking other opinions how about sharing one of your own ? Who would you keep and who would you get rid of?

My opinion on the subject is of no relevance to anyone but me, I grew out of that sort of thing a long time ago.
I doubt the powers that be who decide these matters are furiously scanning these pages for the ‘fans’ views and nuggets of wisdom from those amateur strategists and misfits who know about these things, but only in their vivid imagination.
Managers need this ‘advice’ like a train needs it’s passengers to push it.

I haven’t posted on here for a while. Come back on. Confirmed… you’re still an absolute, dictator-like arsehole. It’s a football forum. It’s about opinions, you mong. If you’ve ‘grown out of opinions’ then you’ve grown out of football so take your own advice, take up knitting & do one. :violin:

Using the word ‘mong’ eh ? …it bounces off me, but not socially acceptable in these more enlightened times….some people find it offensive.

Right, back to business…..
Very true, you certainly haven’t been on here for a while, but then of course you haven’t, vultures only appear to feed when there’s something wrong.
Never see them when there’s not a meal.

‘Dictator-like areshole’…hmmm has a certain ring to it. I like it. clappp
Don’t fret I’m never more than a post away, so you really must visit more often, don’t be a stranger…missing you already.

You’re one sad, sad little man. And I know that for fact. Get off the online forums and tend to your wife pal.

Quality over quantity Deffo.
Maybe 1 day!
Must of went thru 100 players since Promotion.
And a few crank commercial guys.
Mostly dead money!
